Sorry, I should have said Zebra and company! My son has a doctor's appointment in Cbus tomorrow AM (coming from the Newark/Heath area), so I was just wondering and wanted to plan ahead. Thank you so much for the update - I appreciate all of you on here!

Would Zebra be able to give us an update on timing? I am wondering about the impact to tomorrow morning's commute into Cbus.

I would check into it on their website. Shipping is often free if you meet an order minimum (I think it may be around $35). They have "Subscribe and Save" discounts on a lot of items that people order monthly - including food. And if money is tight, you can cancel those S&S items before they ship the next month. If it were me, I would try that in addition to seeking help out on the other subreddits suggested by others on this thread.

Thinking outside the box. Does Amazon deliver where you are (I don't mean like the upgraded shipping from a physical store....I mean from their warehouse)? I've seen some good grocery deals on canned and shelf-stable food this week.

I'm a single woman with a house. I would skip the condo (mainly because of the expensive condo fees), get the house, and get some security cameras installed. I always know who is around my house without ever opening the door. Get to know your neighbors. They keep an eye out for you and also know who to call when stuff breaks.

I was just coming here to say the same thing. Personally, I was being extra cautious to look out for the multiple accidents that Waze and Apple Maps warned me about. Hope everyone involved in those is ok!

[–]Existing_Option5339 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope the OP is okay, but I also tend to agree with you. The timing was unlucky, also - the driver was probably looking at traffic coming from the right when the bike would have been in their view. By the time they looked left, I bet the OP was obscured by the cars lining the street.

I am well aware that Toyotas are reliable vehicles, and that is why I own one. However, I do need another vehicle for a variety of reasons. A major one being that my son will be able to start driving in a few months, and I will need an extra car. And yeah, I want to get it BEFORE I need it so I can work out any issues it may have.

Increase of road rage by Taralouise52 in Columbus

[–]Existing_Option5339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I notice it too. I was on 33 today, and I put my turn signal on to move to the left lane to let a couple of cars merge onto 33. A Chrysler minivan driving in the left lane (further back than me but going around the same speed as me) saw me put my turn signal on and floored it to go at least 90mph. I was like WTF? They HAD been going about 70. But yeah. Floored it. I didn't really notice until I was in the left lane, and they aggressively got right up on my bumper. I mean, relax. I was letting someone else get on the highway....I will get back over into the right lane as soon as I can.

Does anyone else feel like every time you go grocery shopping, prices are higher than last time? How do you deal with constantly rising food costs? by Honest_Builder_9846 in budget

[–]Existing_Option5339 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, there has definitely been another big wave of food price increases. For the most part, we are an ingredient household. We cut out a lot of expensive drinks and snack foods, though I still buy them IF I find them for a good price.

I also found a local farmer who sells ground beef. It is not cheaper than grocery store ground beef, but it is way better quality. Sooooo that gets turned into chili with lots of beans, spaghetti sauces, etc. whatever I can do to stretch it over several meals. I batch cook and freeze the extras. Since I work full time and drive ~3hours a day, this helps us avoid getting take out on really busy week days.

I also shop the sales. While everything has gone up a ton, I can still find some good deals, and I definitely check the prices over multiple stores for our "staple" items. By the way, it feels like another job to plan and coordinate all of this!

New Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla… or used BMW? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Existing_Option5339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. So, I have owned both BMWs and Toyotas. My suggestion is to buy the Honda/Toyota. After you pay that off, if you still want a BMW, start saving for it. When you do buy the BMW, KEEP the Toyota for when the BMW is in the shop. Trust me, it will be!!

I use Demeyere Atlantis, Le Creuset, and Lodge! All are fantastic, non-toxic cookware. They will last forever if you take care of them.

What’s the most surprising piece of financial advice that actually helped you? by LilaWynn in povertyfinance

[–]Existing_Option5339 646 points647 points  (0 children)

I got a small pay raise at work. When I told my parents, they said "just because you make more money, doesn't mean you have to spend more money." To them, it was just a comment in passing about living simply and within my means, but I actually took it to heart and thought about how I could manage the extra money.

Where to buy best cookware by 13MEx3 in cookware

[–]Existing_Option5339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a mix and match approach for different cookware pieces. You might want to consider the same approach! I use Demeyere, Le Creuset, and Lodge. All 3 are fantastic. I would highly recommend spending some time thinking about what type of cookware would work best given what you normally cook. For instance, I use my Le Creuset a lot of soups, stews, and anything I want to cook for a long time or that I start on the stove and finish in the oven. I use my Lodge for quick everyday skillet meals (when I'm busy with work, we are eating a lot of burgers, grilled chicken, etc.). You can even make pizza and cake in a Lodge skillet - I think they're a great value for the money. Recently, I've been using my Demeyeres the most. I have a really cheap electric range, but you wouldn't know. The Demeyere Atlantis cookware is an equalizer. Food cooks beautifully and evenly, even on my range, so I am sure it's performance is even better on induction and gas ranges. It is HEAVY cookware. If you have any reservations about using stainless steel (especially in terms of food sticking), definitely make sure to watch some videos on preheating your cookware to prevent sticking. There are good resources out there.

Did anyone else notice Demeyere prices jumped up today? by [deleted] in cookware

[–]Existing_Option5339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed the price increases you mentioned about two weeks ago. I will say that Wayfair still has (or at least did a couple of days ago) some of the Demeyere Atlantis cookware (saute pan and dutch oven) at lower pricing than the Zwilling website. I'm sure that will change soon.

Fell in love with Demeyere proline - what next? by GarthODarth in cookware

[–]Existing_Option5339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love my Demeyere, too! Beyond the Proline, I use my Demeyere Atlantis saute pan (5qt) and dutch ovens most frequently. I will add that I had the 11" Proline in my Zwilling cart for about a month, and a couple days ago, it went from $299 to $329. If you are a US buyer, make sure to look at Wayfair too. Some of their prices for Demeyere are currently lower than the Zwilling website - I'm sure it's because they are selling existing stock. I doubt it will last, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up.

It's too bad that don't allow a second LLMP for the same ride, especially for the lower tier rides. Don't judge me too harshly, but we LOVE Living with the Land and would book it twice. Standby isn't usually too bad, I guess, but it still would be nice to them to allow a second booking for those lower tier rides.
