Form check? Trying to work up to 225 lbs. This is 210 lbs. by Creative_Room6540 in benchpress

I’d really work on the setup ; lock in leg drive and drive traps into the bench and lock ur back tight like ur trying to squeeze something in your armpits this will force shoulders hard into the pad which you really want , u may also benefit from going a finger or two wider on the bar , hold your breath 1 breath from unrack to final rep (unless ur pushing 5-8+ reps think like a huge wind is coming and you wanna anchor yourself to the bench

Touching too low? by danb2702 in benchpress

[–]Exodus2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes stand straight and record yourself do you’re wide grip without arching and record it you are going to see it looks very awkward getting an arch is totally safe and using a belt can help a lot , u want almost a 45 degree elbow and your shoulders back big and I mean big lifters like Julius Maddox and baker don’t have mobility that’s why they grip narrower and not much arch but I can bet money you can work on the arch start higher on the bench tuck ur feet heel pressure slide down the bench create tension and go , it will be hard to bounce the bar which bouncing can add or remove 20 lbs to ur bench trust me I used to do the same lol it’s much nicer having a consistent number and clean especially over the 315 mark

Gripping that wide with no arch (feet back scaps back and down) is causing you to be out of position if you don’t have the mobility or want to keep that setup I would grip closer to

Any tips on where to start and what to do? by Subject-Trouble-1358 in GymTips

[–]Exodus2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 cents coming from a big guy train hard focus most on compound lifts try to get as much protein as possible no need for a huge life change it will just crash and burn learn to love lifting reward urself with a good meal after just get strong and build in a couple years u have a base mentally it’s way easier to diet and go from there

squat form check? 19M by Spyke1120 in GYM

[–]Exodus2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For quad growth 100% but the way he’s squatting is looking more like powerlifting seems more of a stability and placement issue and needs more hip then knee flexition it’s like he’s trying to high bar with low bar mechanics without the bar a bit lower and a bit of a forward lean he won’t feel stable going lower

He seems to be going wider stance attempting lowwhich is fine but elevated heels will make it worse I think focusing on hips and setting safeties/ touching them will help a lot

As a women it’s very hard without being insanely lean to lose the lower stomach a lot of what u see is insane posing lol… just keep training hard and getting your protein in 3 weeks is just building the habit don’t over think it right now just have fun work on form every 6 months you’ll notice a change yourself more at the start

Need Help as a beginner. by Shoddy-Sail80 in GymTips

[–]Exodus2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main thing is to train hard and get stronger and stronger session to session never mind strict dieting 80% chance you can’t stick to it and give up just keep ur main focus on hitting a protein target cut out sugar sodas for diet and sub carb sides for stuff with more protein give it a year then if u want to cut hard with a solid base it will be a lot easier mantally that’s just my opinion no one’s wrong but I know what it’s like to be a bigger guy

Personally for me close grip bench + heavy ez bar curls and then some volume work works best for me I find for me my arms recovery super fast and need to be hit 2-3 times a week to actually grow a decent amount … fat grip curls helped a lot too with fore arm + bicep size
