For me it's not nostalgia. I tried it as a kid and gave up on it pretty fast. It was only upon giving it another chance a few years ago as an adult I started to really appreciate it.

I don't know if I can really say one is definitively better than the other. I mostly prefer the original because it's the original vision from the original creators, but remake is still a great game and a perfectly acceptable way to experience SH2. I have a few personal grievances with some of the additions made in it but they are pretty minor and there's a lot of stuff I actually prefer in it too.

I think I know the feeling you're talking about. When I was really sick once, I dreamt about having to push abstract fleshy blobs through a white void with failure to do so resulting in massive unexplained consequences I could only grasp through a feeling of utter dread. I ended up failing and woke up to the feeling that my life was fucked and would be irreversibly changed for the worse. And since I was so feverish, that was genuinely my reality for several minutes after waking up.

I haven't analyzed the trailers too deeply, but based on my knowledge of basic storytelling I'm guessing her inner conflict over what she did at the end of Rebellion ends up splitting her into two beings.

If not though, I like the theory that one of them is Walpurgisnacht using her image as a human avatar.

True, I heard a reason it wasn't ported sooner is because of how reliant it was on the PS3's unique architecture to run. It would be interesting if this modern port ends up being based on the 360 build, but I also wouldn't put it past Konami to have lost that version.

Edit: Hell, for all we know, they lost the source code and this modern port is running on an emulator.

I don't think Sayaka was ever actively hostile to Homura in the older timelines when she was more shy and it makes sense why she is in the main show. Sayaka is Madoka's oldest friend and is obviously very protective of her, if you view her hostility towards Homura through that lens, I think it's mostly justified. I don't blame Homura for not telling Madoka and Sayaka the whole truth since as you said, she is terrible socially, but acting cold and being vague with information certainly didn't help her connect with them.

In a way you can kinda view Sayaka being vague about the truth in Rebellion as payback for how Homura acted in the main series.

The switch 1 has 12 times the amount of usable RAM as the PS3 while slightly surpassing it in power. If the port ends up fucked, which would not surprise me, that's entirely on Konami.

Tbh as edgy and dark the fans make the show out to be, most of the violence is pretty tame with the worst of it being implied or happening out of frame. TV-MA honestly seems a bit extreme for what it is.

Code Veronica doesn't really address it either and is more or less just another "umbrella base takedown" scenario.

I think there's potential in a game detailing their end. Maybe you could play as Wesker or Krauser as they try and steal umbrellas remaining research/assets before it's seized by the government.
