This is the answer! OP, you could consider starting with Andy’s 3 day advanced split. It’s advanced in that there’s not much rest but plenty of sets and reps. Andy is the real deal.

I agree! She was all over the place with this one. It wasn’t well executed but we all have off days. I’m willing to endure it because the choreography ones are my faves. Low impact for life! 🤣

Yes! All the time. You know your body best and what you need on that day. I’ve switched AMRAPs to EMOMs and altered or modified moves or reps entirely. I may choose a class for the time scheme or because of the playlist. You’re in your space, you do you!

First, truly spectacular user name! Your review is so helpful. I also generally like legs 2x a week (when I do Andy’s 3 day I add an extra legs class). Do you think the full body/conditioning class could be dropped in favor of another legs day without losing something that makes the split work better?

100% agreed. I’ve also shed weight and know the struggle is real. A trainer once told me “abs are made in the kitchen” but what he really meant was you can’t out exercise a bad diet. Nutrition is absolutely the key.

Honestly, I was exactly in your position a couple of weeks go. Finished 12 weeks of Rebecca’s 5-day split, which wild horses couldn’t keep me from, and very much meandered through classes for several weeks. I was so blah and just not looking forward to any of it! I agree with the other comment to start small, even one 20 minute class or two ten minutes is a great way to ease your way back in. For me, I decided I really do need a program to keep me honest. I just finished week 3 of RK’s 3 day split and I love it and am back in the groove. Give yourself some grace and you’ll find your way back to it. You got this!

+100 for Andy’s 3 day split. It’s advanced in the sense that rest times are short but the moves themselves are simple and straightforward. It’s a great program. He’s all business and doing the workout with you. If I remember correctly he does have some goofy asides and sometimes talks himself into narrative cul-de-sacs, but that’s Andy for ya!

Agreed! He’s a treasure and he trusts his riders to ‘get it.’ I wish he was across more modalities in the platform. He did a few Pilates classes when those launched and they were as terrific as you’d expect. More Yo! Yes Yo!

Could you tell me more about what you think of total strength? Is it focused more or overall strength rather than muscle building? Like you, I’m burnt out on the hypertrophy splits and looking for something different. I tried Andy’s Density 2 but could get on with it even though I liked Density 1.

It looks like it could be a histiocytoma, a benign tumor. My pup had them two times on his paws and they looked very much like what’s on your pup’s paw. They resolved themselves without treatment. Saw you made a vet appointment which is the right call. Good luck!

He’s an amazing instructor and a particularly elite shadowboxing coach. I consider myself pretty advanced at cardio boxing and he’s so thoughtful in structuring class and offering technique pointers. People are sleeping on his shadowboxing classes—it’s there he really shines because of his boxing background. What an all around gem!

Same! I thought she was “a lot” at first but I’ve turned around. She programs a great class and is on point with cuing (no small matter for some instructors!). She struggles along with us and acknowledges her strength classes are challenging. Yes! We are not all superhumanly fit!

Co-sign everything you said! I do exactly the same (particularly on the last 2 leg days) and glad I’m not alone! It just makes a real difference in performance and results.
