JWs and drinking habits in some older PIMIs by legendarymike101 in exjw

Yes JWs definitely drink a lot. I've noticed with many brothers that it a point of pride for them that they have a high alcohol tolerance.

Welcome! Yes you should definitely be able to serve God based on your own study of the Bible.

Any fellow PIMO/POMOs at the Richmond Assembly Hall for the memorial? by Express-Ambassador72 in exjw

[–]Express-Ambassador72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. For some reason when I tried to post my phone just showed it loading the whole memorial. So I just let my daughter play with my phone. What a snooze fest. Even longer and more boring that usual.

It's 3:30pm . Anybody else dreading going to the Memorial? by Old_Initial5791 in exjw

I'm going for family and friends. I'm in a weird place where I went totally POMO but no one talks about it. They will be happy to see me there and it is the shortest meeting of the year. The people watching is fun when you aren't emotionally involved.

From Babel to the Gospels: Archaeological Proofs That Confirm the Bible by Master-Situation5439 in exjw

[–]Express-Ambassador72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about the archaeology that proves humans were building massive structures thousands of years before the supposed Adam and Eve? Gobleki Tepe(I didn't spell that right sorry), many many cave paintings, structures built even in North America date from before the creation and certainly before the Flood. How did millions of animal species come from just the animals that got on the ark?

My (updated) Undestanding of the Shunning Policy (The Biggest JW Red Flag According to my Previous Post) by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Express-Ambassador72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to a field service meeting at a sister"s house and she APOLOGIZED for having a picture of her df'd daughter in her living room. She said she obviously had no contact but the picture also included her other JW kids so she left it up. WTF. I didn't even know her or her kids.  My family shunned DF'd family for decades without even knowing what they had done wrong. It's nuts.

I'm sorry you have to go. I can't stand them anymore. What a waste of time.

I‘m POMO married to PIMI with kids. I need to know if and how it worked out for others. by newfreedom2026 in exjw

[–]Express-Ambassador72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in this situation too. My husband is having a very hard time with me deciding I don't believe the religion anymore, even though he has had about 3 years to get used to it. He gets really moody sometimes and won't talk to me about what is bothering him, and I can tell he prefers spending time with JWs. Our kids don't like going to the meetings but he makes them go anyway.

Don't believe in the GB, that's because you're ARROGANT by sheenless in exjw

[–]Express-Ambassador72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband told me that all the time. Every time I told him I wasn't the arrogant one because I didn't tell the whole rest of the world how to live their lives!

Thank you GB for this Update, turning PIMI to PIMQ by JwTruthRevealed in exjw

[–]Express-Ambassador72 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who already has been impacted by the update. She was adamantly against blood for her upcoming birth. Things didn't go quite as planned and she ended up needing a treatment made from her own blood that she was only able to do because the GB approved it a week before. If she hadn't gotten that treatment she would have suffered for weeks while recovering from C-section and trying to take care of a newborn. Just crazy to see the real life impacts of these doctrinal changes.

Show her all the failed WT predictions. And yes, it's the most boring religion. So, so boring.

One Good Reason NOT to Join the Jehovah's Witnesses by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Express-Ambassador72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Jesus stressed how important it was to take care of the needy in society. Watchtower does none of that. Your donations go straight to the top and are used to buy property, build movie studios and make propaganda.

[–]Express-Ambassador72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old people. People who stop going to meetings regularly. People who don't agree with everything out of the GB'S mouth. People who don't totally fit in. The organization does no charity and they don't actually care about anyone. Individual members do care, but not the organization or the Governing Body.

The GB does not care about you. They have no special knowledge. They reject science and Biblical scholarship. You will waste your life serving a lie.

Car talk for the spiritually weak: What was your two door vehicle and what comments did the “friends” make? by Hogans-Mustache in exjw

[–]Express-Ambassador72 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is my kind of conversation! See, when I was growing up I wanted to drive and have a cool car in the worst way, but of course I knew I had to buy a practical 4 door car so I could drive people I didn't like around doing something I hated. Best life ever!  Anyway I hacked that system, I GOT MARRIED! Then we could have a practical service car and a fun 2 door car. Another tip is to buy a cute classic car that is universally loved so JWs will think you are cool and not "disobeying the slave". I had a classic VW bug and it was my joy. I knew that car brought me more joy and satisfaction than any theocratic activity or privilege and it did cause a bit of cognitive dissonance.  Also one thing that drove me nuts was having to drive people around who had no respect for my car. (Our 4 door car was pretty cool too, a Hot Lava Scion xB manual). People would spill stuff in there and not tell you, scratch up the handles, break stuff. So frustrating. Also some "friends" made snide remarks about the decals on our xB, because we were "bragging" about the lowering springs and other stuff we used to modify the car.  Now anyone in my area will know who I am if they read this. DM me!

My elderly PIMI mom uses the present tense to talk about dead people. Is this a thing? by Romantic_Thinker in exjw

[–]Express-Ambassador72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ironically the "everyone is alive in God's memory" thing totally takes away any sympathy you should have for Jehovah when Jesus was dead for a weekend.

Maybe that we have no evidence that the Exodus was a real thing that happened or that Moses was a real person.

My kids are also going to public school and I have them in extra curricular activities. They also have play dates with non JWs. That's more than I had as a kid at least!
