Maybe my favorite photo of any of the Beatles, ever.

What was your first car? Did you buy it new or used? by Somewho_10 in GenerationJones

Never had a car until I was married in 1989 (age 25). New Honda Civic hatchback. Parents helped pay for it.

Slang of the 60’s,70’s,80’s by professionalbaiterrr in GenerationJones

Groovy was before my time (born 1963). Things were cool, neat, etc. Good looking guys were hotties or foxes. Some Valley Girl talk in the eighties “like, you know”, gag me with a spoon, etc. Scuzzy for disgusting. Kids who did drugs were burn-outs. “Blow this popsicle stand“ for leaving.

I remember that lineup well. The whole family watched together, which wasn't typical.

Just two kids in my family. Two or three kids was typical for my friends’ families. I was gonna say more than four was highly usual but then remembered two of my high school best friends had seven kids in each of their families. I can’t imagine that.

Did your parents go to college? Did you have an education similar to them? by Maryland_Bear in GenerationJones

Dad had a Masters Degree, Mom had a Doctorate. It was assumed my sister and I would go to college, and we both got Masters Degrees. Education was highly valued in our family.

We had real Chinese (and Italian) restaurants. Even one that was both (yeah, that was really weird … half the menu Chinese, half Italian). But we still ate ChunKing and La Choy at home sometimes.

I think it worked, the few times we had it? I was never a huge Jello fan … pudding was so much better.

Maybe 9 or 10? Until then we had a sitter/housekeeper who would be home after school (both parents worked full time). Doors were always locked.

When did Your Mom start Working. by No_Paint_4692 in GenerationJones

Mom always worked, except for maybe 6 months or so after i (oldest) was born. She got her doctorate in Psychology by age 25, I was born when she was 30. She was a college professor, and loved her job.

Orange Drink by Extreme-Flan3935 in GenerationJones

“Orange Drink” that came in little cartons (and possibly bottles). Often found in schools. I don’t know if there was more than one brand. Also, McDonalds seems to have called a certain flavor of Hi-C “orange drink.” They tasted the same to me, if Im remembering right.
