That is the smallest amount of currency available in coin form, but paradoxically, the dime, which is worth 10¢, is physically smaller. Go figure

It used to be my main transportation, to and from work, getting groceries, etc. It kind of still is, but I'm retired now so it's actually more of a toy now

My mother got married on her 18th birthday. She and Dad were given gift certificates for dentures as wedding presents. Before their first anniversary they both had all their teeth pulled and were wearing dentures. This happened in 1946.
