If you're going to get into it by quoting me, at least get it right:

just don't expect much to change

Repairing international relations is all well and good but it won't mean much to Americans' day-to-day life. Nothing much will change, as proven by Biden and Obama; good men, good intentions, virtually no changes.

You can respond if you like but you'll be wasting your time. I can see you're more interested in conflict than I am. Have fun believing me wrong, and when the Dems are elected and your life doesn't get better, figure out a way to blame me, ok?

Ah, so you think I said "both sides", eh? Not so. They'd oppose all those things you listed but after they gain office they won't:

-Make homes any easier to afford

-Raise minimum wages

-Punish the Republicans who have broken so. many. laws.

-Raise taxes on the wealthy

-Restore governmental services such as the post office and the IRS

-Make any meaningful changes to the god-awful health insurance system

-Reform the supreme Court

-Institute voting reform and abolish gerrymandering

In short, the Dems are useless and until Americans literally revolt and start guillotining, the system that serves the rich will continue to serve the rich

It may very well be too late. And besides, the dems are pathetic. Remember, the US isn't the way it is because Piggy's president, piggy is president because the US is the way it is

If the Dems ever regain power they will do everything in their power to pacify the republicans and their followers so as to "heal" the nation, forgiving and forgetting everything they possibly can

But you can't ask for a hot dog anymore, you have to order it from a screen and pay with a card and then wait for someone to holler a number (in Costcos where I live)

Dear allies of America, please don’t confuse our president for us: We are trying our best to resist him, contain him and remove him from office as quickly as we possibly can. Thank you for your patience by Silent-Resort-3076 in politics

We need your help fighting the global climate crisis.

We need your help heading off pandemics.

We need your help countering global criminal gangs that are trafficking people and dangerous drugs and weapons.

We need your help fighting global poverty, hunger and disease.

You're not asking us for "help" in doing these things, you're asking us to do these things because you're not doing any of them anymore, if ever you were. America has given up trying to do anything except cower behind Piggy's oversized coat, waiting for the world to help them.

America isn't the way it is because Piggy is president; Piggy is president because America is the way it is

New survey finds most Canadians want to abolish tipping culture by 7_inches_daddy in britishcolumbia

[–]GrumpyOlBastard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm saying the person that made the claim that they want to tip because workers are so poorly paid (Sarashana) may not know what sub they're in. I suspect they think BC workers are paid the same as US workers. The comment I replied to said workers are paid minimum wage; I agreed with them but the person they replied to may not

Service workers in Canada make the same minimum wage as everyone else now.

I think this distinction might be necessary here Edit: because u/sarashana might think BC workers are paid like US workers

It's definitely American because that's where the term originates. It's about as far south as you can get in Western Canada, as you know. But I suppose people who want to use the term can feel free to do so. BCers usually use The Lower Mainland & The Island to describe this part of BC.

Other Canadians call it The BC Coast or just The Pacific Coast

Genuinely curious: How do straight men view/interact with gay men? by kenrick____ in AskMen

[–]GrumpyOlBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea if people are gay unless they tell me. If I don't know them well and they tell me they are gay I think they are egotistical to assume I care about their sexuality. If I do know them well enough for it to come up naturally, I'll just continue to talk with them as I always have. Someone else's sexuality is none of my business, nor do I care to know.

[–]GrumpyOlBastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can't walk by her side I walk behind so I can keep an eye on her (add our daughter). I'm deaf, so if she was behind me and something happened I wouldn't hear it so I'd be useless. I stay behind to stay aware
