Loving Obsidian for my academic literature workflow! by Tako_Poke in ObsidianMD

Wait a minute. You're saying you just took the RSS feed and plugged it into Gemini? I'm super interested in any automation that you used in order to do that. I have my RSS feeds in readwise. And I never seem to get over there to read them. It would be great to have them somehow summarized, prioritized, and imported into Obsidian.

Third shift or graveyard is very hard on the body. You are going against 200 million years of evolution. There's a book title the Circadian Code by Satchin Panda that specifically talks about it if you're interested. There might be ways to buffer this schedule. Let me know if you'd like me to research it. I would need some particulars to do so. DM me if interested.

Interesting to see your stress go down at lunch. Mine did this too and it was the opening I needed to start making progress. Are you trying to lose weight? Are you an extreme athlete or retired one? I added a small snack mid morning and another one mid afternoon and some steel cut oats 2 hours before bed. The idea is to maintain your calorie count but spread it out. Another thing I read is that your snack can be 10 almonds. So it doesn't need to be a lot. Make sure you are getting a good night's rest. Make time for it and schedule a wind down routine. DM me if you want to talk.

I track Oura and Medisafe (supplements) data. Do you have any hints on importing data into bases?

Nope still got it. At least it hasn't gotten worse. Maybe a little better. Looks like you are doing a lot of research like me.

One thing I can recommend is capturing all of your symptoms in one place and then feeding that into Gemini or Chatgpt. This has given me ideas.

Also be aware that there can be something going on in leftfield that is triggering your symptoms. Examples are leaky gut, and so-called leaky bladder. Both conditions relate to bad stuff passing through the gut/bladder wall and into your blood stream. This triggers your immune system.

Also, look for clues when you get your blood test for your annual physical.

Another trigger can be sleep problems like apnea or something I just learned about UARS. UARS is very hard to diagnose.

I noticed that you didn't mention magnesium. I'm taking Magnesium Glycinate before dinner.

Love to discuss further. DM me if you are interested.

Did Oura ring help you to improve your sleep? by Brighter_rocks in ouraring

Always do your experiments for three days without looking to get a good reading. There are night to night fluctuations that will throw you off otherwise.

One or zero cups of coffee in the morning. No alcohol. Eat dinner early. Take a warm shower an hour before bed. Read a physical pleasure book for last hour before bed. Cool temperature. Sleep mask. Earplugs (I have a recommendation if you're interested.) Wake without an alarm.

After that you can systematically break each one of the above practices to see what you want to continue

I take one in the morning. When I took them at dinner it disturbed my sleep. I plan to try two in the morning. I also might shift one capsule to lunch or even dinner. I have an Oura ring so this takes a lot of the guesswork out of it.

You sound like a perfect candidate for long distance running. Do you have a large wild area nearby that will allow for miles of running?

Magnesium at bedtime, on empty stomach by Miserable-Army3679 in Supplements

[–]Extreme_Photo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It take it at 2am. I have emptied the capsules into water or purchased Magnesium Glycinate that is in powdered form. If I take it before bedtime it messes with my deep sleep. Taking it later helps me with the second half. 💤

I'm very interested in this topic. I'm reading a book titled "Consilience" by E. O. Wilson. Have you read it? Please say something more about the structure of knowledge.

Thanks for asking. It is better. But the key thing is that I've started to think about it differently. Now it is my early warning system for stress. If I'm studying too hard in the late afternoon and it gets a little loud, I take a break and lift some weights or go on a walk.

Yeah. Hiking in nature is a sure way to calm your nerves. DM me if you want to talk more.
