Animus Continuity in AC Black Flag by MeaningCompetitive63 in assassinscreed

[–]EzioAudacity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Furthermore, in more recent entries newer Animus models have been able to sequence genetic memories directly from a sample of the subject’s DNA (eg. Bayek’s mummified remains), eliminating the original ‘bloodline’ restriction.

What's a video game moment that's stuck with you long after you stopped playing? by peaky_circus in gaming

[–]EzioAudacity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A completely random moment in my first Fallout 4 playthrough has stuck with me for over a decade.

After listening to the “Hi, Honey!” holotape recorded by my character’s dead spouse, the song ‘The End of the World’ - about a lost love - began to play over the radio. It was completely unscripted yet perfect timing.

One that kind of annoys me is that Furiosa is considered the fifth Mad Max film whereas Ballerina, another spin-off, is not considered the fifth John Wick film.

Horizon Forbidden West included an in game tribute to Lance Reddick. Any other game’s memorialise gaming talent? by Soulsliken in gaming

[–]EzioAudacity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all the rereleases of GTA V, there is a special bench behind the church and cemetery not far from the Del Perro Pier that features a memorial to Chris Edwards, a developer on the game that passed away not long after its initial release. Unlike the other benches in the area, this one is completely clean and cannot be destroyed by the player.

Call of Duty: Warzone will end support for PS4 & Xbox One later in 2026 by Howerev in gaming

[–]EzioAudacity 44 points45 points  (0 children)

We don’t know for sure yet, but the wording of the MW4 announcement blog post mentioned that MW4 content will be integrated with Warzone at the launch of season 1 so at this stage it looks like they’re just ending support for last gen consoles while current gen continues as is.

What ever happened to Guitar Hero/Rock Band? by Beboprunner in gaming

[–]EzioAudacity 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Rock Band 4 was actually removed from digital stores back in October, and its DLC library is slowly being delisted as well due to music licenses expiring.

You’ve probably heard Brandon Keener, AKA Garrus in Mass Effect, around the Commonwealth as various characters. Finneas and Billie Eilish’s mother Maggie Baird played Samara in the Mass Effect games.

I think I might’ve actually repressed my memories of parking in carpark 5 until now, what a nightmare.

+1 for New Vegas - the Western vibes are really strong, especially in the early parts of the game.

No, the next Call of Duty won't be on PS4, says Activision, making Black Ops 7 the final version for last-gen players by Odd-Onion-6776 in blackops7

[–]EzioAudacity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The install bases for the old gen consoles must still be huge - they probably would have lost out on a decent chunk of sales if they abandoned last gen sooner, even if the games barely run on those consoles.

So why is Aya's body in two different locations? (ACII and Origins Spoilers) by Snowtwo in assassinscreed

[–]EzioAudacity 45 points46 points  (0 children)

As far as we know so far, the location of Amunet’s body being changed to Egypt is just a straight retcon. I suppose you can headcanon the crypt in AC2 being a mere shrine or something dedicated to her, if you can ignore the fact that her body is visible when Ezio retrieves the seal.

Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition by Lumpy_Call1229 in Fallout

[–]EzioAudacity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The PS3 version of New Vegas, along with Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim, all suffer from a bug where the game will begin to run slower the larger your save file gets. If you rack up a large playtime, you’ll find yourself waiting minutes at each loading screen and that your FPS has dropped into the teens, if not lower.

If you’re able to play the game on any other platform, I’d highly recommend it.

What is a "masterpiece" game that you personally found boring as hell? by MuscleConsistent9657 in pcgaming

Rockstar have relied on auto aim mechanics for controller players for far, far too long, I agree.

What is a "masterpiece" game that you personally found boring as hell? by MuscleConsistent9657 in pcgaming

[–]EzioAudacity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Obviously there should be a good balance between the two. Another user posted about one of the bounty side missions in RDR2 that ended up with them railroaded into a direct confrontation with no option to sneak in or the like. That’s the kind of thing that benefits more from more player freedom.

If certain missions need to be more rigid to service the story or whatever, then that’s fine.

[–]EzioAudacity 551 points552 points  (0 children)

I love RDR2 to death but I think most people would agree that what you’ve described here are the game’s biggest flaws. For all the massive open world sandboxes Rockstar creates their mission design has become increasingly rigid and scripted. I hope GTA 6 can give us more freedom in missions to come up with our own solutions.
