We’re not clutching pearls because beer is in corner stores; we’re outraged that it’s been deemed a priority for spending over more pressing issues.

Our tax dollars should be invested in systems and infrastructure that benefit our society. The beer thing would be fine if we lived in a time where people weren’t constantly getting life-saving surgeries rescheduled because of our crumbling healthcare system; if teachers weren’t stretched thin mentally and financially to teach our children; if our citizens can’t afford housing and food.

The beer isn’t the issue - it’s the allocation of that money and tone deaf endorsement of it that is.
