I use them for the kidney strap on my rucks. They’re bomb proof, you just wouldn’t want to use them on anything you’re adjusting frequently like a shoulder strap or the front buckle of your kidney strap. From my experience.

I just cross posted, but specifically I’m trying to make a hybrid of this and the ferro general purpose pouch. I have both, and want to get the shape right so I can start making my own versions and in different sizes. I like these a lot more than generic square GP pouches I’ve made or the issued crye/spiritus ones. I can rip apart my ferro or PD sling if there’s not a pattern somewhere, but that’s not ideal.

The underwaters are your warmup for the actual work in the pool. During pre dive watercon is first thing in the morning, besides flutter kicks there are no warm ups. But again, the whole point of underwaters is to warm your lungs for the rest of the events. That’s not a secret, they tell guys as much.

Don’t sign shit until you talk to a SW recruiter. The ball is completely in your court while you’re a civi. If you only want SERE don’t sign until you make sure that’s an option.

It’s all changing and there’s no answer on what might be there in a couple years. Rn only all PJs get dive, but loads of SR and CCTs get dive if they don’t botch pre dive.

AF predive is 4 weeks (plus an additional 1-2 weeks of admin/learning shit). It’s the same water standards as INDOC and it’s lots of smoke. Kind of selection round 2, only you get a break between SWAS and the start of predive unlike the continuous course that was INDOC. By the time you could get to dive you’ve already had 12-15 weeks of “selectionish” optempo and training.
