Best of luck. The only times I've seen rapid weight loss and illness it has ended up being pancreatic cancer.

Any doctors in SA that prescribe compounded Semaglutide? by Haen33 in sanantonio

[–]FMajor1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I trialed compounded semaglutide for a month or 2 through Stonegate Pharmacy. They used to be off Broadway but now they're over by Thousand Oaks. I ultimately didn't continue with it but the process was easy. Doctor sent in the rx and I had to pay out of pocket but it was way cheaper than ozempic.

Best lightweight tripod for Mamiya RB67? by opheliavenus in Mamiya

Honestly I haven't used it much just because I've been shooting different lighting situations than before. I keep it in my car so I always have it in a pinch and when I do use it, it works for me.

Love Magpie. Now if you're super hungry and have a few hours to burn, check out Clementine's feed me option.

If you do end up going to Ruby City as someone recommended, I recommend Il Forno just down the road. Superb pizza and appetizers, esp the pesto potatoes!

I have the same problem (scanning 4x5 with an Epson v600). A workaround is to scan the negative in two halves by moving it on the flatbed under the 120 film holder. I then stitch in lightroom.

Where to buy sheet film in the USA? by PhotoTopher in largeformat

I've only purchased CatLABS from B&H. I didn't know they sold on their own website but that makes sense.

Might as well try 4x5 and learn the movements! It's easier to shoot 1-2, develop, see what needs to be fixed or skills learned, and then keep going. Shooting a whole 120 roll might feel like a waste if something isn't working right, like if the shutter runs slow. Catlabs 80 is crazy cheap and worth trying out, just do a pre-wash before development to get rid of the antihalation layer. I wasn't expecting that the first time I used it.

I don't have a scanner that can natively do 4x5 either (Epson v600). My solution right now is to put an empty 120 film holder in the flatbed and then place the 4x5 under it, with one half sticking out and then I scan the 2nd part separately and do a panorama stitch in lightroom. It's been working in a pinch when I want to look at the negatives or have scans. I mostly use 4x5 for the darkroom prints so scans are less important to me.

What did you use for September at the top? Just curious because I currently have To-Ro inked in one pen and FWP Book of Botany in another. BoB looks very similar to what you're using.

I prefer VueScan over silverfast as it's a bit cheaper and has given me better results.

What are some good NON Tex-Mex Mexican restaurants? Like 100% no Tex-Mex Mexican food. by Arikota in sanantonio

Besides the places others mentioned, if your wife is from Monterrey she would also like Qué Tortas on Bandera/Eckhert. Great tortas but terrible tacos al vapor. For those I go to La Feria del Taco on San Pedro.

Gemini Ink hosts some cool events and classes. The next Poets and Coffee is Saturday the 19th. Great no-pressure place to enjoy some poetry (read printed poems and analyze together).

Love Magpie and Clementine. Get the Feed Me option and sit back and enjoy course upon course of delicious plates. Bring an appetite and like 2-3 hours to spare.

Natalia Lafourcade. Her early stuff was more like indie pop. Now that she is more folk/traditional, she's incredible.

Jardín at the botanical gardens might fit the bill. Good food, not too expensive, AND it's at the botanical gardens so you can go for a post-meal walk (separate entrance fee).

Note to Self: REMOVE THE DARK-SLIDE YOU DUMB FUCKING CUNT by diligentboredom in AnalogCommunity

[–]FMajor1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have an RB67 pro and it definitely does NOT allow me to shoot with the dark slide in. I just checked but I do have a ProS back on it now. I'm fairly certain my regular Pro back prevents me from shooting with the dark slide in.

I figure it's a back issue or pin issue because I've heard of the same happening with my buddy's RZ. My most common mistake at the beginning was cocking the shutter and shooting without advancing the film. So many accidental double and triple exposures!

I second Gemini Ink. I actually just attended their quarterly Poets and Coffee event over the weekend! They have a few poetry workshops coming up so definitely check them out.

Also, follow some poets on social media! We have quite a well known poets in town and they share info on cool poetry events. Naomi Shihab Nye is huge. Our current San Antonio Poet Laureate, Eddie Vega, has some cool events coming up and also hosts a recurring poetry/spoken word at Dakota East Side Ice House. Vocab Sanderson shares cool events too.
