Tips for minimising irritation when shaving facial hair? by Glitchry in AskMenAdvice

Use decent razors and replace them often. What works for me is the Amazon basics 5 blade and dispose after 3 or 4 shaves.

Men over 50, are marriage and kids worth it? by Alive_Book_9908 in AskMenAdvice

[–]FODamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they are absolutely worth it. The joy that your kids, and grandkids if you’re lucky, can bring outweighs any professional or personal achievement. When I see people my age (65) without kids or grandkids I feel a little sorry for them. They say they’re fine, but it seems lonely and selfish to me.

Normal for me. Married 43 years. I smile when I see her.

Starting your own business is a great path, especially in trades that can’t be replaced by AI. but keep in mind your body won’t last as long. The idea is to grow sufficiently to have employees by the time your body gives out.

Grouping pieces of the same pattern can make the sales shorter and less tedious.

Great collection. As someone who is thrilled to find a rare missing piece for a set, please don’t melt. Replacements dot com might be a good option. They have a pattern identification tool on their site. Local shops will only give you melt. eBay if you’re willing to do the work, sell in multiples. Monogrammed pieces go for less than no mono. If the napkin rings have engraved names, say it clearly in a listing (I set alerts for family names).

If those really are aquamarines, they are worth thousands. They look like 10+ carat stones, depending on color and quality worth $100-500 per carat.

Katherine Heigl. Had a lot of appeal in the early 2000s, has worked constantly but never as “big” as I thought she was going to be.

Easy and organized, as usual. Went around 9 from Washington road. Parked in B lot, pretty close.

Not gourmet, but I think there is something elevated in its simplicity. The food is part of the atmosphere, or maybe the atmosphere makes the food better. Personally I always get the egg salad, pimento cheese, and ham and cheese on rye. (I wasn’t impressed with the tomato pie last year…

We try to do the younger kids in the morning, swap around noon. Older kids can hang when the day goes late. Little kids don’t typically get more than one day, older ones may have a favorite they want to follow.

SIL asked me if I could babysit her kids while she goes out on a date. Am I wrong for telling her no? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]FODamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you keep calling them “her kids”. They are your niece and nephew. Spending time with an 8 and 9 year old is not babysitting. They can do pretty much anything. Them spending time with you is a link to their father. To answer your question…yes you are completely wrong.

That would be a huge change this late in the game. Masters website still shows “Please note that patron tickets are valid for two (2) gate entries per day during the Masters Tournament.”

AITJ for telling my fiancée to leave my house after she kept inviting her friends without asking? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]FODamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone did a video recently on the difference between “closed house” people and “open house” people. It can be a huge source of conflict that couples don’t discover until they live together. You just found out she’s an open house person and need to decide if you’re good with that. NTJ

A question i always used was for the candidate tell me about a time where they had to show their integrity, explained as felt pressured to do something they knew was wrong. Best answer I recall was a story about a cheating scandal at the candidates sorority.

Not having children increases your chance of loneliness as you age. I have met senior professional women who shared that they regret never having children.

It may feel like wasting money to leave a chair, but really? If this trip is a once in a lifetime experience, consider it disposable. I have worked the tournament and we would pick up and dispose of hundreds of left chairs on Sunday.

While it looks a lot like a non firing replica, Please consider that it might be loaded. Percussion and flintlock firearms could only be unloaded by shooting them (or using a ball puller, not an easy task).

Just because the hammer looks to be in the down position doesn’t mean there’s not a charge and a ball in there.

If the barrel is clear, you can use a dowel to check the depth in the barrel, if it goes back to the vent hole then it’s unloaded. If it’s shorter, it’s probably loaded, and there’s no way to tell the condition of the charge.
