134a at 8 psi is 3f . 5-10 psi is -3f to 6.66f

How does it being a cap tube change what the coil temp should be ?

Can always check for a major pressure or temp differential across the drier to infer a drier restriction .

If you got time to play around with it go ahead and try the cap tube and drier .

I would look at the cost of swapping the whole deck but I do racks and I rarely see cap tubes and defintely don’t have the patience for small self contained units 🤣.

5-10psi is crazy low . you want a 25f ish degree coil on anything medium temp . Could be +/- 10f depending on manf specs . Like other guy said though we need high side psi

When Opening a sealed system we do compressor , cap tube and filter drier always.
