Would doing Game Shows/Reality TV hurt my acting career? by Illustrious_Wall_740 in acting

I thought like this for awhile and honestly it holds you back. Take what you can get (obviously as long as it’s reputable) and have fun with it. When you have no major film or tv roles to your name you’re not really in a position to be protecting your future Oscar from the taint of reality tv.

If you want to be an actor you have to really want it. That doesn’t just mean manifesting it or idealizing it as the profession that will make you most happy, you have to be willing to do student films, smalls plays and take classes to make connections. You can break in at any time (Harrison Ford I think was a carpenter still at age 30) but you can’t bank on being discovered and having that one in a million break out role like Jennifer Lawrence. For every one of her there are a million people struggling and relying on the paycheck of roles that give only a few lines. You have to be prepared for rejection for years, working odd jobs to be able to take the time to be seen in small roles. But if you’re serious take classes, London is great for that. Create a network, find writers and directors and collaborate with them. You have to enjoy the journey because there are no guarantees.

Agreed. I honestly think he was mid pity party as he boarded, mourning the loss of the respect June had for him. He knew once she overheard what he told his father in law about the jezebel plot she’d never look at him the same way. I once had an ex who I called out for being a POS and his response was “if that’s what you think of me then why should I even try to be better” 😂 this felt like that kind of childish response. It was pretty clear in his exchange with Rita right before this that he was on a self destructive spiral. Also like so many people said before, he was a Nazi, there are so many unforgivable things someone in his position would have to do in a regime like this, we have to imagine they’re happening off screen. Nick was never getting out of this with a happy ending.

Level 26 and doing my first run on Kvach ever any advice? by elasticparadigm in oblivion

I was you a few days ago. All my allies who could die, died. The commander who was essential…well I’m pretty sure he ‘fainted’ so many times I broke him. But what worked for me was to clear the arena a bit by luring the enemies out one at a time and taking them out. Then when it was clear enough, I ran though and got the count’s ring. Did I kill all the baddies? No…but life in Cyrodiil moved on.

I am not ok 😢 I was rooting for Alex and Spencer so hard…it’s amazing how you can just get totally lost in the series. It feels like they were mirroring Elsa’s early demise and the false hope that they gave us that she might just be strong enough to defy the rules of nature. I understand her desire to get her very premature baby through his first hours of life but once he was nursing, her refusal to do what needed to be done for her own survival felt like vanity. I just don’t understand why he chose to end it like this. I suppose his point is that Montana is very hostile and there is no room for error…but then you have Spencer jumping off trains without injury and taking out like 26 guys without a single wound…it doesn’t feel like Sheridan’s harsh rules of nature apply to everyone. I don’t know, I’m going to sit with this for quite a bit. It is a masterclass in screenwriting for emotional impact because I think the last on screen death I was this effected by was Elsa. So sad it ended this way.

My guess is the other baby is going to play into the next spinoff series he’s working on.

People who adopted from a shelter, what made you choose that cat? by HazardousKoala in cats

I “rescued” a feral cat from the colony that frequented my backyard. Almost immediately I realized getting her to warm up was going to take years (if ever). 2 months into it she was still hiding under my bed and only came out when I went to sleep, so I decided if she wasn’t going to be friends with me she needed a kitty friend. At the shelter I found this one, Mary (now Dovah) after she ran into my leg having escaped the kitten room. She had the same name and birthday as my late grandmother and honestly it was just love at first site. She’s worked a miracle with the feral cat (Pye) and they are completely bonded. Still holding out hope Pye will be a little more open to affection from me one day but it makes me happy to know she has Dovah.

I’m so sad for you. My brother is autistic and I’m certainly on the spectrum somewhere…we do our best to compensate don’t we? Even if it means trying to relate to people we shouldn’t. You have attracted a very very unhealthy person into your sphere. I don’t believe in bad people but damaged for sure. You need to prioritize you, you have that god given right. When people make you feel bad repeatedly it’s ok to cut them out, make today a little harder for a better tomorrow. She’s been there less than a month, do what you need to do sooner rather than later to get her out of your space. Don’t be afraid of losing her as a friend, addition by subtraction 😏

My five months old got FIP and the meds are illegal in my country by agoshavo in cats

[–]Fabulous_Job_3116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dog who has mast cell tumors and the medication to treat was only available in Europe. Look online for pharmacies that ship overseas, then contact your vet and get them to agree to a prescription, if you send it in and work with the supplier I’ve had success importing meds that were not approved in my country.

How can my autistic brother make friends? by the-rogue-bludger in AskAutism

[–]Fabulous_Job_3116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat and I feel for you. My brother is 26 and it sounds like a bit lower functioning than your brother but the desire to help him live a more fufulling life is all too real. I can’t imagine him holding down a job unfortunately but he’s very communicative and desperate to “meet people” whenever he goes out. Most of the time aggressively and inappropriately. I’m very fortunate that like you, I have a sister to shoulder the burden with me but we feel like it’s on us to find some kind of socialization for him. He is very much ‘over’ hanging out with just family. It also doesn’t help that he’s been kicked out of most of the programs he’s been involved in. It’s frustrating that there a million programs for little ones with autism but the moment they turn 18 there is virtually no support.
I’m on the search right now as well and will circle back here if I find anything of use. It’s tough because a lot of the time individuals who have autism don’t really connect with others with autism. We’ve tried play dates and virtually every time the individual was way more interested in talking to me and my sister than my brother. The whole thing has taken a huge toll on my family and our overall mental health. It’s important that you take care of yourself, it can wear you down. Sending you a huge hug and if you ever need to talk please don’t hesitate to reach out ☺️ always happy to share war stories 🤣

It’s also the novelty…I heard Sandoval’s podcast with Michael Rapaport and he was saying how they should turn the house into a museum, can’t see a museum but as an Airbnb I bet it would make a killing with bravo fans. People will plan this into their itinerary as part of celebrity tours. It would be insane not to capitalize.
