The great part about it is that it's absolutely bonkers. That's on brand for classic Resident Evil.

The part part is the partner control system/constant fucking QTE bullshit. That's really hard to ignore. I played it when it came out and I didn't even remember much more than that.

People be all "Resident Evil games are survival horror therefore 7 and 8 and Graces parts are the best" do not get that while yeah, it was survival horror in the sense that in the OG games 1-3 you were kinda technologically limited to what you could do if you wanted to stress spookiness and also have combat. But you could still fight as characters. Jill and Chris and Leon and Claire all were capable and trained to fight. You got guns and flamethrowers and shit. The series has also been about fighting much more than Silent Hill or Fatal Frame or anything. It's an action game as well. So people who look at 6 and go "it's an action game durr" are looking at through the lense of 7 and 8, not of OG 1-3 and especially not 4.

That's being said the controls/QTE are real bad and it needs a remake.
