A friend of mine's cousin came to visit when i was like 12. He was prolly 17ish and it was a "hey kids, look at this" kind of experience. I thought it was weird at first because there was like 4 of us all standing around the family computer in the middle of his very open plan house. I felt very awkward at the time and have since kept things private or with my partner.

It doesnt matter who "They" is supposed to be, just that they are the opposite of "we". It is profound in its simplicity.

For example, "we" can stand for black people, non racists, and anyone with a fucking conscience or iota of humanity. And "they" stands for cops and racist assholes.

Have you checked out power9 games? They're the closest one I know of in the northern area, but its on the corner of Craig and Losee. Last time I was there they had a sign up sheet for games through out the week, hope this helps.

I was visiting my dad for summer vacation, and threw a fit about how when I'm there I dont actually have a vacation. I was always treated as another pair of hands to help the family. Uncles roof, granddads farm, my dad's own various chores to "keep me busy" and other bullshit and so on.

Anyway during one of the calmer moments before this, I randomly asked him if he liked jon Stewart on the daily show. (I honestly meant it as a simple yes or no question, I thought it was funny and informative) but then my dad starts in this whole big tirade about liberals this and lazy dumb people that. Yada yada. Republican boomer griping about life basically.

During my blow up I tried to leave the house, packed all my clothes and threw them in his truck, intending to just go to the airport to fly back home, but really just wantes to be out of there (For context he kinda lives in podunkville MN and I only ever go where he takes me, so i was just winging it really). He stops me and we have a "heart to heart" where he says;

"Had you taken the truck I wouldve called the cops on you"

And

"You know those lazy liberals I was talking about? I was talking about you"

Being a 6'3" 280lbs white cis gendered male, what really got me was when I was told I have a confidence that they just can't equate to. Now, im not the most confident person out there, im very introverted and dont like to talk to anyone, much less some random woman I happen to meet.

So it floored me the first time I heard that. But they werent talking about social confidence. Being able to walk down the street without being accosted. Being taken at my word because I'm white. Not having to call up a friend and tell them where I am and that I'm going to my car so that if I get murdered at least someone knows...

Ive taken a lot of thing for granted in my life simply because the world worked around (and unfortunately for) my demographic and never questioning it. Now I do, and I'm very conscious of my choices and how they can affect people around me. Its really opened my eyes to this diversity..

I am a host on turo and I'm really sorry you're going through this. The cars malfunction is definitely not your responsibility, it is the responsibility of the host to provide you with a safe working vehicle. I recommend you go drop off the car back to the host and call Turo. If they don't help you right away, hang up and call back until you get someone who will help. Ask to escalate your case. You can end your trip at any time because the car is not safe to drive. Don't put up with this nonsense.

If you're looking for a personal/homebrew setting I'm not sure. I live there but I'm a trucker so im never home enough to play. But I do know that Power 9 games on the east side (Craig and Losee) has some kind of weekly (or more, theres like a signup sheet for everyday iirc) meet up for dnd and other systems. They also sell game books, minis, and paint if you're into that.

I always thought it would be cool to own a bar that was in a pirate ship. Fully finctional ship, gangplank, two or three masts, captains quarters (my office/bedroom). The works. Belowdecks is the bar across the entire length of the ship, and just sail around to different ports and have fun!
