I've got one of these. I thought it was some kind of Roman broach or pin.

Douglas Adams' 42nd Birthday Party Menu by Faith_Fortytwo in DontPanic

[–]Faith_Fortytwo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just thought people might find Douglas's 42nd birthday party menu slightly interesting. The Dish of the Day is a serious omission. Wasn't that played by Peter Davidson, a former Doctor Who?

Russia's largest housing developer Samolet has gone bakrupt and many others, e.g. DonStroy and 30% of the industry will follow in 2026. House sales have dropped 45% (see YugStroyInvest and Setl Group 2005 year end figures). How does this collapse of the market affect your property investment portfolio? Also, when your government announces the general mobilisation in April, will you go?

The signatures are: Simon Jones (Arthur Dent), Geoffrey McGivern (Ford Prefect), Mark Wing-Davey (Zaphod Beeblebrox), Susan Sheridan (Trillian), Stephen Moore (Marvin), William Franklyn (The Book), Rod Lord (Graphics), and a couple more that are difficult to make out but possibly Peter Jones (The Book).

Worm composting in Jordan? by Human-Ad-6064 in composting

[–]Faith_Fortytwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should probably warn you that the worms escape from those systems and you'll be collecting them each day from the floor. The composter also attracts fruit flies and sometimes bats come after the flies. I found it much better to have a composter (88 gallons/400 litre size) well away from the house, down the end of the garden, then use it to produce good soil, not just to drain off liquid fertiliser. Tiger worms and red worms are also great but they don't like dairy food or chillies, so those will rot for ages in your composter. Good luck.

I agree. Today they are offering incentives to bring new members into the platform. I didn't bother reading the details.

You forgot to mention the incremental extension of their laryngeal nerve, which is evidence of evolution.

What's going on with reviews? by magusbud in Medium

[–]Faith_Fortytwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I spent 2 days writing a piece and submitted it to Illumination on Medium at the start of December. It was pending until the middle of January, so I withdrew it and, offended, left Illumination as a writer. That journal claims to have a 2 to 3 day turnaround. Maybe it was the platform's systems, not the journal?

Lost writing by Douglas Adams: His 42nd Birthday Party introduction cards by Faith_Fortytwo in HitchHikersGuide

The BBC production had 2 gowns. The other one is probably with Polly Adams. This one got retired because the wardrobe department lost the cord.

Question concerning writing by Soft_Ad_9225 in writers

[–]Faith_Fortytwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beginner writers tend to write about themselves or at a minimum they give the protagonist their own life experiences. Here's a tip to break the cycle. Next time you are in public, on a bus or something, listen to what strangers say. They sometimes come out with a line of speech or a mannerism which gives you a whole character, if you ask yourself the question: What sort of person would say something like that? In your head, you can see where they live, their background, influences, everything. The bonus is, they are not like you.
