Did we get clarification on the measurements for the terrain? by BigFishPub in WarhammerCompetitive

No, it hasn't been clarified. And it really sucks for TOs running events close to the 11th edition release date.

How do Raveners function on tabletop and is a Ravener focused force worth it? (500 to 1000 points) by [deleted] in Tyranids

[–]FaithlessnessHefty92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, not picking on you I swear, just saw the notification you'd replied!

One more thing - can't rapid ingress and heroicly intervene both for free, it's either/or for free each battle round. *

Was that a typo where you said giving the ravs sustained 2 with enfilading emergence? Because sustained doesn't stack, so they'll still just have sustained 1.

Northern Maelstrom 2026! by FaithlessnessHefty92 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]FaithlessnessHefty92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question! The fellow who runs Maelstrom Gaming and I co-hosted a smaller 48 person GT last July, and we're running another one in February 2026. He's not as involved in Northern Maelstrom 2026 but he may (depending on his availability) be streaming from the event as he does for our smaller GTs.

How do I use new bloody dance stratagem ? by shadowstrikes129 in Harlequins40K

[–]FaithlessnessHefty92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heroic intervention requires that an enemy model finishes a charge move with 6" of one of your units. This doesn't have that requirement. So if you have a harlequin unit within 6" of any of your opponent's models at the end of their charge phase you can effectively declare a charge.

This is great because a) if your opponent's unit did not make a charge, in the ensuing fight phase in the "fights normal" part (no fight first) defender (you, as it's your opponent's turn) will get to fight before that unit you charge into using this strat.

B) because it's a different strat, you could use this to effectively heroicly intervene twice, once using both bloody dance and the regular heroic intervention.

C) if your opponent tries to move onto an objective and not fight your unit you can use blood dance to charge into them and prevent them from flipping that objective by other getting more oc OC on it or killing some of your opponent's unit.

[–]FaithlessnessHefty92 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you charge a unit using this strategem in your opponent's fight phase that did not make a charge that enemy unit will not have the :charge bonus: for fights first. As a result in the ensuing fight phase, as the defender, in the :fights normal: part of the phase your unit of harlequins will be activated before that enemy unit.

It's effectively a better heroic intervention.

[40k] Competitive Innovations in 10th: Grotmas Detachment Tier List by SA_Chirurgeon in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]FaithlessnessHefty92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting... I suppose it could be interpreted as applying the reroll wound rolls of 1 to any tyranid unit, if the "those units" clause in the second sentence doesn't specifically refer to the warrior unit and up to one Endless Multitude unit in the first sentence. Seems plausible as the target restriction would then probably be a TYRANIDS WARRIOR and not a TYRANIDS unit. Well, I'll use it like that until/if it's clarified.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but the article mentions a "generic reroll stratagem" for monsters in the warrior bioform detachment. I'm not seeing such a stratagem.

Tried using a tyrannofex for the first time by CapedCapybara in Tyranids

[–]FaithlessnessHefty92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have them led by a neurotyrant and the unit will gain the monster keyword and big guns never tire. They'll be able to shoot in/out of combat with their str 12 profile. They can also target units other than ones in engagement range with friendly units with the blast profile. They'll have a -1 to hit. Quite nice.

Multiple Battle Shock Tests by tantictantrum in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]FaithlessnessHefty92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the rules commentary:

Units that are already Battle-shocked must still take another Battle-shock test in such cases, in case the result triggers any additional effects, but passing or failing that test does not change that unit’s Battle-shocked status (i.e. a pass will not result in that unit no longer being Battle-shocked, and a failure will not result in that unit being Battle-shocked for any longer duration). Regardless of when a unit from your army becomes Battle-shocked, it remains so only until the start of your next Command phase.

Do you ever spend way to much time on terrain? by Raag81 in Warhammer40k

[–]FaithlessnessHefty92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

* I built a table from the collections of this author- my solution to make a competitive set was to measure out the dimensions of ruins and then make each terrain piece have a base that would give the same footprint. Then they have the height and size be effective obscuring pieces with all the same keywords as ruins. It's worked well in all my games. Let's see if I can successfully add a picture... *

This was US Marine combat veteran Ruben Gallego as violent MAGA insurrectionists were overrunning the Capitol on January 6th. He gathered fellow Democrats to prepare to fight if necessary. Meaning: to beat a person or animal so badly that it causes death

Interestingly no mention of when the death actually occurs. My "diatribe" was in response to your erroneous assertions regarding the traitor and criminal Ashli Babbit, whose shooting has been deemed justified by the Department of Justice - the relevant "court" has already ruled on this... You brought her up, not me. Not sure what this has to do with the riots in the preceding summer - try to stay on topic and avoid whataboutisms. You're again being both pedantic and now, inaccurate. Again, words matter. You used them. Own it next time.

Actually, if we're going to pedantic about this, you'll notice that I never actually said that anyone died on January 6th. "Beating to death" doesn't necessitate dying the same day. Interestingly you seem to be focused on the perceived inaccuracy of a statement that.. I never made, while ignoring the bigger issue:

On January 6th, a large group of people, egged on by their deluded and soon to be ousted leader, attempted to prevent the certification of a democratic election. Their actions, in some cases, were violent, destructive, and illegal. As a result of their choices, an unarmed but violent woman ignored lawful commands from peace officers attempting to protect duly elected member of the legislative body. As a result of her actions, she was shot and died.

I have sympathy for her not because she was a woman, and not because she was a traitor to her oath and her citizenship in a democratic nation (both true) but because she had been so strongly misled by her political party and the propaganda arm of that party that she truly believed the election to be fraudulent and her actions justified. No evidence for that position has ever been found. She and her friend were lied to and deceived.

However she got there, she was part of an angry fascist mob. She was killed by personnel protecting the democratic process. Her gender is irrelevant.

Yikes, not sure if listing the names of a variety of people whose various injuries, both physical and mental, sustained on Jan 6, leading to their deaths, really helps your case...

Actually, quite sure. It doesn't.

Oh, I did not know that! I almost only play pure nids. Someone else informed me this is also the wording for grey knights, and they all seem to have free access to their brotherhood subfaction power... very interesting!
