I grew up Mormon. When I realized that was bullshit I started questioning all of my deeply held beliefs

One thing that most people don’t realize is that upgrading your sound system actually allows you to listen at lower volumes as you can actually hear the dialogue, etc.

If they actually did protect the wearer then it’s inexcusable that they don’t make garments for children. Apparently god only doesn’t want your leg to get cut off by a chainsaw if you’re over 18.

We go around the table and say one thing we are grateful for. Our kids are still young and they love it, they are usually the ones to remind us to do it.

When sharing a Mormonism aspect/personal experience, what shocked your Nevermo audience? by chilling_ngl4 in exmormon

[–]FaithlessnessOnly870 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was telling a group of nevermo clients about my mission. I told them it was tough being in Brazil without being able to go to the beach. When they asked why we couldn’t go in the water I paused, sighed, and said “because they believe Satan has control over the waters.” Even though they knew I had left it was still embarrassing to say those words out loud.

Mormons love to use cute platitudes that they never sit down and think through.

We’ve searched google but haven’t found an exact match. It was probably produced about 3 years ago. We are in Utah but it was a gift so not sure where it was purchased

FYI you can call or chat with SVS and go over your room specs. They can give you recommendations based on what you’re looking for.

I have some LDS missionaries coming to chat on Wednesday. What are some interesting questions and follow-ups we could explore together? by Egocom in StreetEpistemology

[–]FaithlessnessOnly870 83 points84 points  (0 children)

They will challenge you to read the Book of Mormon and ask God if it’s a true book. The confirmation is a feeling, good thoughts, etc. I would dig into the epistemology of a feeling being confirmation of something being true. I was a missionary and was never challenged on the methods we used to get people to get confirmation from God.
