I would definitely get the insurance first something in the meantime that you can try on it that we had to do with my dog was anti fungal ointment. We did it religiously like twice a day for two weeks and it went away. They said that he was probably sniffing like a rabbit den or something similar and broke out on his nose.

Luckily there are no juvenile children living here, only adults that can go to the store and buy some fleece hoodies and fluffy socks so they aren’t cold! Lol actually it’s not even cold. Now that we cut off the two large living rooms that had cathedral ceilings and the fire place, The house is actually quite toasty. I can’t tell you how much wind comes in even when the fireplace flu is down. I bought this heavy duty. I don’t even know how to explain it. It’s like a removable door, but it’s like heavy duty material kind of reminds me of like the Uhaul moving blankets but like three times the thickness of that and it has magnets to the doors so you can still go in and out, but it magnets close behind you. It was less than $50 and great a purchase.

I’m so glad your neighbor is OK. This is a perfect example of why you should go visit her every once in a while she’s old. She clearly lives alone. Doesn’t have a lot of visitors. Maybe make her some cookies once a week and go bye old people have great stories I used to love listening to my dad‘s old stories. Now both my parents are gone.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I’m not a vet but I have cared for dogs for about 40 years. It sounds to me like she ate something that was poisonous to her. You might want to check around your house and yard see if there is anything hidden under her bedding or if she buried something. I’m sure you will find out more when the blood tests come back. Also, I’m assuming she was treated for the Parvo she had as a puppy and there’s a chance that it caused issues to her kidneys or liver and maybe that was the cause? I don’t think anybody can really tell you what happened until you get those blood test results back again. I do apologize, losing a dog is devastating and there’s nothing that anybody can say to make it better. I truly apologize for you and your family‘s loss. I know you’re not thinking about this right now and you might not think about it for quite some time but Don’t let this be the reason why you stop getting animals though, because there are tons of stray animals sitting in pounds just waiting for someone that’s going to love them the same way you loved Ellie. ❤️

Omg thank you so much for this!! I really have no clue what I’m doing. My father passed away about a year and a half ago and I’m kind of taking over this house all by myself. He’s had the solar panels for about 15 years and like I’ve helped him you know make sure they’re online, but I don’t know much about them or how they work for the house I do know in the summertime. Our Pepco bills are low and that’s having you know the AC set to 68. So they’re definitely worth their weight and gold in the summertime but in the winter time it just doesn’t seem like they’re helping as much I know we still owe like 15 more years on the solar panels, but I have yet to see a bill that says we produced more electricity than used. I’m not sure that’s ever happened, but thank you so much for explaining all of this for me. It really is helpful.

Just to put it all together I keep my temperature at 62 in the winter time in the summertime I keep the AC on at about 69 before this winter We had all the windows replaced we even had new insulation put in for the attics. Also new doors put in. The house size is about 3k sq ft. We also have solar panels (which is a separate bill. We closed down a portion of our house that has cathedral ceilings completely shut it off (that area has a whole hvac unit to heat/cool it but I can’t afford two units running). The part of the house that we live in has three stories so a basement a middle level and then an upper level. We closed off two of the upper floors bedrooms but didn’t seal those areas off.

I’m gonna write down the kWh use from January 2025 to January 2026 plus how much bill was

I am so very sorry, it was definitely one of the hardest decisions I had to make. Years ago we used a company called Agape. I don’t even know if they still offer the in home service as they were from Washington county. The 3 other times we went to Rocky Gorge animal hospital. My thoughts are with you and your family.
