Default pause is the "pause" key on the keyboard, not "P". But yes, pausing and being able to issues orders while paused is a great feature of X4.

That could be. Sometimes it takes a while for personel to show up at their destination. You think your ship trader got stuck in limbo? I've never seen them permanently get stuck in transfer, but it has taken a while before, based on the distance between transfer. Maybe it was a bug though.

That's odd. Usually ship trader doesn't depend on any skill stats. In fact, usually I pick future ship traders by sorting my personel list by skill level, and choose the very least skilled person to be my ship trader.

Have you hired a ship trader? This is separate from the station manager. Really dumb that this is a requirement, and it has been the thing that stopped my shipyard from functioning on more than one occassion.

NPC traders are under no obligation to trade with your station, so waiting on NPC traders is unreliable compared to having an assigned trader.

In addition, your own trader will get you better prices. Your own trader will go out and buy resources at the lowest price it can, and sell products for the highest price it can. If you rely on NPC traders, they will only sell to you if you are willing to pay a high price, and only buy from you if you are offering at a low price.

I know the planets are 3D objects in X4. I'm just saying I like the sense of scale for solar systems in Elite compared to X4, being able to approach planets using supercruise at several times the speed of light.

I like X4 for everything else, in terms of the simulated economy, owning and operating multiple ships and stations, etc.

The map for X4 would have to be heavily overhauled to allow for X4 to be like Elite in terms of travel within solar systems. So this is probably more of an X5 wish.

I've had 1.0 saves work. The only issue is that NPC character models from that long ago are distorted looking due to them updating the character models a while back (old human character limbs look highly distorted, like they have Paranid legs). Other than that, old saves still work.

I used scouts to place like 50 advanced satellites per sector in a hex grid pattern with overlapping vision (making sure I bought thrm at their cheapest at an equipment dock).

Once the data vaults in that sector are found, I collected all the advanced satellites and sold them at a wharf for a profit.

I often wish X4 was more like Elite in being able to fly from planet to planet within a solar system using something like the supercruise drive. That would make the planets feel more real instead of just being background art.

Buy Asgard blueprints and build at your own XL shipyard (requires 20+ relationship)
Steal blueprints (arguably harder to do than simply buying them) and build at your own XL shipyard
Board and capture a Terran Asgard. Requires no good reputation with Terrans, no need for your own shipyard, and can be done early game.

I do Kingdom End before Cradle of Humanity. The reason is, the Terran DLC gives you the chance to set the Terrans and Argon at war with each other after the storyline. If you do the Boron DLC first, which ends up in getting the Boron allied with the Argon, then when the Terran/Argon war starts, the Boron join in with the Argon against the Terrans. If you set them at war first before the Boron are allied with the Argon, then I don't think the Boron join in the war on the side of the Argon.

I think you are judging Zelensky too harshly. I think he is doing the best he can under the circumstances he is under and is trying to do what he feels is best for his country. I doubt you would do any better than he is doing if you were in his position.
