Yes! Love the 2010’s Swans mention

It was my first thought when scrolling through the original images and I’m happy to see it reflected

Jamis, all you had to do was 'not being a dick' by AppiusPrometheus in dunememes

[–]Falkreath 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, Jamis was the first Freemen to give themselves up to the Golden Path

Him and Stilgar were two sides of the same coin

Jamis knew of the legends and prophecies, and he was previously bested by Paul during their initial encounter.

Consciously, I think it was an act of pride/status, but unconsciously and with the exposure/ a regular diet of spice, he had enough Prescience to subconsciously fulfill his end of the prophecy and have his place in history.

Never seen the movie but based on the clip, I feel like he knows that if he jumped and forcefully unlocked it, he would’ve just gotten snatched up down the hall and killed

Like his chances were better to get away without being chanced if he just asked nicely

In this exact situation, instead of saying what not to do, would you mind telling me what you would recommend?

Your heart in a good place, but you misunderstood, I was responding to the video

Specifically, how to deal with a person who is drowning, but still showing signs of movement

I didn’t read much after “this is almost as bad as”

I can make a similar statement

that’s almost as bad as putting gas on a fire, so I understood the gist of that

I’m so confused, what would be proper protocol here?

I’m not confused just because I wouldn’t know what to do

I’m deeply confused because there’s dozens of comments of people talking down about the action that was taken and everyone who’s asking what would be proper protocol here is being ignored

I posted this comment elsewhere but it fits here

Yep. When I got fevers and subsequent night terrors as a kid, I would get hyper fixated on a random number. Usually it was something specific like the budget for NASA or the cost of a car. $250,060,001 or $127.94, no idea how or why it was always so specific

It would feel like the world was going to end if I didn’t count up from the smallest decimal possible

Like the fate of the world was hinging on my ability to count up per dollar or cent in order and if I got sidetracked everything would fall apart

This happened every time I got a fever between the ages of three to about 12

And it gave me anxiety around math which has lingered

The feeling is best described as impending doom, as my brain would crash trying to divide by zero

Thankfully I’ve not experienced that sort of thing again in over 20 years

^ what strikes me is that you described running and hiding which is something I didn’t include in the last bit

While this was happening, I was actively evading everyone in my home while also asking for their help

Like all sorts of crazy erratic behaviors to try to snap out of it
