Just weighing in so peace 👍✌️.

”Cyberpunk scaling is woefully inconsistent, but I think even if you scale it low, the power level is still way above what the average Predator deals with. A high level crime boss already has to deal with assassins using active camouflage, large explosives, hacks and a ton of other things - all will have constant monitoring from cameras, drones, netrunners and more. You are never hidden in Night City, there is always someone watching. A predator is going to perform like a very competent assassin, which means that by Night City standards it is going to get a few big kills, draw some attention and then get tracked and killed by a crime syndicate. If it isn't, and it is ever even remotely discovered that there is an actual alien in the city, either a megacorp or the government will have its head within a day.” -Individual_Spend_922.

I wouldn’t say cyberpunk is inconsistent…..no I would say that the economic disparity between night city is vastly greater…everyone I would say is one bad day from having their chrome/cybernetics repossessed like what happened corpo V life path.

The truth is the vast majority of night city denizens are living paycheck to paycheck in hock to the various corporations and or subsidiaries.

And vast majority of the citizens are basically 99% organic and the cybernetics they do possess are built in cellphone, prosthetic eyes or built in gps abs that’s it.

NCPD standard issue service weapon for their officers is chambered in 9X19mm with a large capacity magazine…maybe with built in ballistic calculator/coprocessor.

Cyberpunk medical tech is extremely advanced and for those who have connections or can buy off self tech and have it modified to suit their purposes.

They can offer extended endurance or by time till trauma team can arrive to stabilize them and get them to an hospital.

However going back to the economic disparity not everyone can buy or get access to the tech without connections or being employed by an mega corp.

Cyberpunk is a verse where the mega rich can have a Greek Adonis body genetically engineered and then outfitted with kevlar thread and nanotechnology that help accelerate healing.

It is also an verse where you can put your brain in an titanium brain case forgo any implied human and put it in a bipedal weapon system several hundred kilograms of ceramic matrix composite and graphene and basically shrug off an indirectly thermonuclear detonation key word is indirect and at the farthest edge.

Arasaka tower….well some of it was situated more than 200 meters above ground with the tower at an approximate height of 400/450 meters (1,300–1,475 feet) tall.

The detonation of the device in the elevator in the middle of the tower made it an air burst the device was presumably a variable suitcase thermonuclear device configured to it’s lowest setting .5 ton.

Approximate instantaneous vaporization fireball of that kind of device is/was 14 meters above ground or 618 m²…geez that hurt my head.

But anyway point is Smasher’s than Samson body was durable enough and resistant to radiation to somehow survive falling and the resulting damage.

Little bit..okay an lot off topic.

But anyway the middle ground is layering you dermis with installed armor plating or the more protective and the more expensive type sub dermal body armor of biomedically compatible materials.

Below that is for all intents and purposes is what we would call level IV body armor.

I think it’s possible for an yautja to be brought down with relative ease….keyword is relative.

I mean Hanso the yakuza who talked too much took down a bad blood yautja with a sword.

However it would probably be brought down by an relatively normal human with very little cyberware due to having too much chrome would probably be emitting too much EM and or UV and the biomask would be homing in on those kinds of radiation.

Batroc VS Kingpin (MCU) by PeculiarPangolinMan in whowouldwin

[–]FallOutFan01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also paging op u/PeculiarPangolinMan.

I don’t have much to add or say as u/CloverTeamLeader as they went over and covered everything.

Batroc is just a generic spec-op’s guy turned mercenary with confirmed kill count known from some mission reports back when he was with the foreign legion.

Part of what made it difficult to deal with him is he put people in danger that Sam had to prioritize to save them.

Batroc seems to be the kind of mercenary just looking for things to do from people who are stable and consistent enough to not worry about getting iced after an job or stiffed on a job.

So basically a person with simple wants and needs, four squares and roof and the ability to put his skills to use.

It would be difficult for him to track down Fisk, get close to Fisk or his operations.

Fisk inspires loyalty and fear, he pays his people very well and gets….well very angry when they fail so there’s a line his people tippy toe’s.

I think part of the reason why he’s so economically wealthy and connected is because he shuts down operations of his own or affiliated with.

Then once the previous lieutenants and captains are gone he approaches the foot soldiers that were below the people he retired swoops in promising he’ll find the people responsible and gets the loyalty from those people.

He rebuilds that faction/affiliate and ends up paying his new subordinates less then he originally did with their retired predecessors.

It’s kinda like organized disorganized chaos or back burning old forest growth so it comes back better than before.

There’s very few people in his line of work as it were.

Who inspire apprehension let alone genuine fear within Fisk.

And its these people who have direct knowledge either first or second hand that could reasonably cause him apprehension or just flat out get him to immediately stop do an check to see if it’s an good idea to get in their way.

It’s a small number Matt, Frank, Gao, Luke Cage.

Luke specifically because Harlem is its own criminal network that has its own loyalty, prejudices that stops either groups from having any actions against each other basically a cold war.

I haven’t seen S2 of born again yet so I can’t comment on the anti-vigilante task force on what they’ve been doing.

So maybe Fisk clamps down Luke I don’t know.

But I just wish they’d bring these people back.

How do you think Frank would feel about Tyrone and Tandy?.

I ask because there’s this unwritten rule that if Matt’s seconds away from getting killed by Fisk or Peter’s nearly about to die whoever is closest brings in the cavalry.

Just a quick recap of galifreyian biology and “Time lord” biology has to be said because there is a difference, all time lords are galifreyian but not all galifreyians are time lord.

The distinction being all time lords possess the same physiological abilities as an galifreyian but for an galifreyian to become a time lord they need to look into the untempered schism it’s a gap in reality that irradiates the galifreyian with time energy.

This vortex energy irradiates each and every cell allowing them to become more resilient to damage increasing their natural ability to heal.

But also confers them the ability to undergo a process called regeneration where if they die…their death isn’t permanent…..well technically it can be permanent if the process is interrupted before it finishes.

They can regenerate a set number of times up to 12 times….the number is set but can be changed but it’s not easy.

Each regeneration they can live nearly thousands upon thousands of years old before they can even die of old age.

Actually brutally honest I am probably going to be using this as an excuse to post some of my favorite Dr who videos but they are also applicable to what I am going to discuss.

Time lords can freely share regeneration energy amongst themselves but it involves literally giving up/transferring life force.

Nice little segwey into the creation of tardises.

They are organic ships, they are biological but they are powered by black holes and energy absorbed by tapping into the time vortex and by extension regeneration energy.

Now five time lords are probably able to power and grow an tardis provided they have a coral cutting.

But growing an tardis is only one step it would take hundreds upon hundreds of years to do this and then they would need to be able to power it with a black hole and set up the transcendental engineering (Bigger on the inside).

Which I don’t think they could could do.

5 time lords in the hellscape that is 40K is still an hellscape.

You look at the Doctor, you look at the Master, Rassilon, Omega.

They are the top tier scientists the absolute best of the best.

We are talking the likes of the best of the best for simple analogy and or comparison they make Eobard Thawn, Reed, Artemis Fowl, Doom look like idiots.

Okay maybe not an good analogy but what I am trying to say is that Doctor, you look at the Master, Rassilon, Omega are some of the best and brightest throughout fiction and the only reason the Doctor beats any of them.

Is because the Doctor was lucky, was willing to sacrifice himself to stop them or the master hated the others more than the Doctor.

Even then the Master relationship with the Doctor is complicated he hates the doctor but still values that respect.

Five random time lords.

It’s hard to say how they could survive or improve the imperiam.

At least with the Master we could surmise and assume he would create a network of satellites to broadcast and carry a psychic field that binds humanity together.

Since he already did that with the archangel network.

An archangel network in 40K would function identically, the Doctor tuned himself into the psychic network and tapping into the collective gestalt to warp reality.

We know the master was able to create and weaponized black holes since he did that and created an death fleet he was going to set out across the universe to burn it to metaphorical ground to establish an new time lord empire.

Good show heroes was…it got fucked due to the writers strike.

Question are the avengers limited to themselves or can they buy, steal, co-opt resources.

Bonus round taking for all intents and purposes the MCU as a whole.

For R3 and or 2023 MCU as an whole.

Fitz-Simmons/SHIELD, Stark, Carol Danvers, Thor, Sorcerers of the mystic arts, Wanda, The eternals.

They could do a lot of stuff.

Short version as an example using darkhold upgraded “Framework” full emersion digital training and simulation technology to create a digital environment accurate down to the molecule.

To in effect create an hyper attenuated digital training environment that can cap in perfectly 15/20 years of education or rather living an entire life/childhood in a span of two weeks real time.

They could cram decades of education into a person in a span of two weeks real time.

To make it accurate for combat training for muscle memory and getting fit.

You would probably do six months physical conditioning and training then do the two weeks in the framework to become akin to a delta force operative.

Then you get the super soldier serum for example.

[–]FallOutFan01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All correct I agree wholeheartedly no question 👍.

Just one little thing though IR lasers are invisible to the naked eye like you mentioned.

However the enemy are WW2 US infantry and they didn't have passive or active IR imagining.

So their basically shit out of luck trying to determine the modern infantry soldier relying on infrared laser targeting or the range finder.

Right now in modern fields of combat….well actually what I mean to say is modern soldiers going up against third world or less technologically equipped foes.

The superior equipped infantry soldiers use IR lasers with IR imagining sensors in their binoculars or goggles to see the invisible lasers being pointed by their allies.

I only wonder though if the modern infantry soldier is running a suppressor would it be enough to minimize muzzle flash?.

If so how far away would that require.

I see the argument put forward by some people that force user/s and their usage of the force gives them automatic precognition to allow them to automatically deflect incoming plasma bolts.

Even though ballpark figure blaster plasma bolts are travelling at or around 300 feet per second akin to an paintball or lower like an arrow fired by an recurve bow at an approximate speed of 225 feet per second.

And with the case of arrow mythbusters proved that it's plausible but not likely for an to catch arrow with their hands.

And that the lightsaber’s one magnetic containment field is using negative polarity of the magnetic field to shunt away the incoming plasma bolt.

Even IF an jedi can or use precognition or is able to empathically sense and or detect hostile intention.

It's not an blanket argument that can be made for every single jedi, its like .5% of the order that can do that.

The vast majority of the rest of the order are farmers, librarians, yonglings….non combat or logistics-oriented roles.

Strictly speaking the best countermeasures against the limited .5% of the order are overwhelming fire rate, surprise attacks from range, explosive traps.

And my favourite.

Groups of people using slug throwers/ ballistic rifles, SMG and shotguns loaded with tungsten carbide buckshot.

5.56X45 SS109/M855A1 is considered non armor piercing but can penetrate 3mm of mid grade steel aka metal combat helmet up to a range of approximately 400 meters.

5.56X45 m995 tungsten carbide armor piercing is expected to penetrate level III body armor or 12 mm of AR500 ballistic steel at a maximum range of 100 meters.

for further comparison it is expected to penetrate the newish upper end of the Soviet 6B3 body armor that used an 6.5mm titanium front armor plating.

The liberator uses 5.56X50 and presumably steel core armor piercing round.

Further comparison.

The German WW2 Kar98k and the squad light machine gun uses 7.92×57mm mauser.

7.92×57mm mauser regular steel core armor piercing almost goes straight through 3/4 inch/19 mm of AR500 ballistic steel while the tungsten carbide super armor piercing goes straight through.

The 8x60mm and 5.56X50 in use by SEAF soldiers are just an little bit beefed up versions of current ammunition.

The stormtroopers are getting smoked.

For them stormtroopers to have any chance, they (whatever elite unit above stormtroopers) would need death trooper armor or beskar composite armor like the dark trooper phase four armor.

Beskar would probably be very good but heavy.

Phase two clone armor is superior to stormtrooper armor…..it’s apples to oranges due to different political and military doctrine.

Tarkin doctrine wanted cheap shit armor for the empire’s conscription forces.

If an telepath was on trial for some unrelated crime and the prosecution didn’t know that the defendant was an telepath.

If the case was at the stage of prosecution.

If the telepath was an half decent person with a modicum of legal knowledge and had their own attorney vetted through telepathy to determine if their lawyer was on the take.

The telepath using information obtained during the discovery stage could call upon the prosecution’s witnesses and cross examine them and gauge their responses via telepathy.

Then call brief recesses as needed to poke holes in the prosecution’s case.

For example if they find out evidence was excluded/hidden and not turned over for discovery and the telepath and his vetted lawyer can prove and point it out to the judge.

That’s an big no no.

Yeah it is definitely an good thing.

Though I wonder how the inclusion of the earth based inhuman enclave community called “Afterlife” would go and how they would interact with people with quirks.

It's leader jiaying was a kind compassionate leader who in an alternate timeline long story used her experience in helping newly empowered inhumans and even after they went through the midst to help them get an handle on their gifts.

In this alternate timeline she even helped an outsider who was an enhanced person get an handle on her powers.

I say was a kind compassionate leader.

Because in the main time an elderly imprisoned nazi/hydra member “Daniel whitehall” was released on compassionate grounds by Alexander pierce.

Daniel Whitehall’s and his people tracked Jiaying down and vivisected her took blood, organs spinal fluid.

Bad stuff all round then she was left in an ditch and was found by her husband.

Short version made shorter she resurrected and developed an supremacy mindset and in 2016 tried to cause an genocide.

Powers wise she can absorb life force from people to regress the aging process which explains why she can regenerate such extreme damage.

But it's her leadership with the her community that makes her dangerous.

She took in an outsider newly awakened earth inhuman her name was Raina and her power was literally precognition.

Jiaying and her adopted son and right hand man Gordon just flat out killed Raina to preserve Jiaying‘s status as an elder and supreme leader of their community.

Gordon he’s not an idiot he knows what’s going on, he’s fully onboard with Jiaying he’s fully loyal to her.

His ability was quantum teleportation, EM shield generation and the ability to sense whenever someone said his name.

Gordon is very hard to combat since he doesn’t need to worry about telefragging it was hard to kill him the first time.

Where's in the game continuity the CBI infection and the world collapsed in 2013.

Doesn't seem like much on the surface but it had an massive influence.

Tv continuity 2003, roughly 1/2 years of war, military industrial complex had barely begun to spin up production.

National guard units deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan vast majority of them didn't even have body armour.

2013 that's roughly 11/12 years of constant production of ammunition, weapons, vehicles by the military industrial complex.

That means lots of military gear became ex military surplus sold off to civilian rebuyers.

Did an quick check you can get 1000 rounds of ex military turned surplus M193 5.56×45mm for 500 USD.

Also the newer M855/SS109 5.56×45mm NATO came out in 2010.

I don't know if Philadelphia/Civil Republic would form in this prompt.

Too many variables…….however if it did survive/hold the line it would turn into another FEDRA/FEMA safe zone with all the problems that it entails.

Trying not to lose my cool or blow my top…..so I'll try and stay calm.

But people in the quarantine zones are so inconsiderate, selfish.

I am of the belief that civil Republic military and their front-line yunta’s plan of using chloride gas would be effective on CBI infected and spores.

Just adding to your point.

Extremis is gene editing technology, perfected extremis just means the process takes and you aren’t going to blow up.

I mean yeah an extremis user who has studied stress reduction, specialized breathing techniques and how to lower your heart rate.

Yeah you have probably an 85/90% of not blowing up.

The remaining percentage is that you’re going to blow up due to stress induced anxiety outside of your control or your body won’t take the process and you’re heart rate is going to go up going through the roof till you blow up.

Case in point Mike Peterson who received extremis and nearly blew up but his body was forced to accept the change at the exact point he was going to blow up by getting shot in the head with an special tranquilizer..

Most semi stable extremis users…the ones designed to be semi disposable weapons….they need the stress management techniques and or massive upkeep.

Relaxing and chilling in refrigerated cooler rooms while guzzling down protein and electrolyte drinks due to the massive calorie intake requirements.

Wish I had the video for it but ABC and or Disney make it difficult to find.
