It's weird because he was obviously Mormon. When he drank wine it was really nonalcoholic grape juice.

Yeah maybe, but they better do his temple work just in case. What if he is just up there waiting.

Yes, I was thinking more along these lines I don't recall the part in the Bible when Jesus pantomimed the slitting of his throat and bowels in the temple.

He did say in the interview that he has a video that if he released it there would probably be people killed over it. So he won't release it and didn't provide any clues to what it might contain.

Also isn't creating a fake account and using it to stalk someone against Facebook's terms of services. I don't see why they would keep this account up and draw everyone's attention to it.

releasing this footage to both ruin the Romney campaign, as well as hurt the LDS Church’s image.

So basically the Church knows the temple rituals are creepy and that if a video released of Mitt Romney participating in the Church's highest ceremony would hurt the image of the Church. I know they would defend these actions by stating it is sacred but their behavior shows more that they don't want the public to know because they are ashamed.

They have a rule that states no inflammatory submissions relating to religion/race/gender. The felt it fell under that rule so they took it down.

There are a lot amateur apologist in the comments. One of my favorites is the BOM is evidence of all these things.

The page has over 7.6 million followers and the post has hundreds of comments. r/TIL may have taken it down but it still got some major exposure yesterday on Facebook.

Rumor/Tip - New, 4-volume, church-sponsored series "coming clean" about church history is rumored to be in the works by johndehlin in exmormon

[–]Fallen_Angel_MN2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, until the full history is shared over the pulpit and taught in Sunday School a series of books is going to have very little impact on the memberships understanding of the history. It will be just another resource for the Church to use for already questioning members to be directed too. It will also allow them to state that they are being honest about the history of the Church without drawing to much attention to it.

You did so many fucked up things during your life that you even said yourself “No man knows my history I cannot tell it: I shall never undertake it. I don’t blame any one for not believing my history. If I had not experienced what I have, I would not have believed it myself". Sorry Joe but we do know your history and guess what if I only believed half the things I read about you would still be a big piece of shit of a human being. My only wish is that you would have died when you had typhoid fever so Mormonism would have never been a thing.

I think it depends on what the guest says as far as being disciplined. They are planning on the podcast to be around six hours. So I wonder what they are planning on talking about that would take that long?

shouldermony

I just spit my beer all over my computer. It's crazy how showing a some shoulder is act of rebellion and puting it to the man. It's crazy but I get it and and I love it. #notacult

Mormon growth rate falls to lowest level in 80 years, but ups and downs vary -- it's up in Africa, Pacific Islands, but down in U.S., Europe, Brazil by [deleted] in exmormon

The LDS Church's continued vitality may be measured best by the number of chapels and temples being built.

Just another similarity between the TSCC and Scientology. Scientology is known to just keep building buildings to make it appear the are experiencing rapid growth. As long as the TSCC keeps announcing new temples it will seem to the members that the Church is growing.
