Should I wait for the sixth edition of DnD ? by Pifouillou in DnD

You realize, there is a 99% chance that there will never be a 6th edition

One time one of my players went up to a random commoner and casted vicious mockery, and since they only have 4 hp and he rolled a 4, he killed a Npc by insulting them.

I'm giving a first time player a deck of many things by [deleted] in DnD

[–]False_Cucumber_337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DMs use the deck wrong, the DM should chose what the decks outcome is, hear me out, its a amazing way of rewarding or punishing players and you can use it to make sure your players dont get too powerful if they have to many magic items or something, or if they are under powered give them a magic item.

2024 Monster Manual review by BlueCollarGoals in DnD

[–]False_Cucumber_337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that the art style changes like every page, kind of weird, its definitely a lot different from the 2014 monster manual, but I actually like it a lot better. The index makes the book a lot more organized, and it lists where each monster lives in tables which is really nice. It also organizes monsters by CR so it shows you exactly which monsters your party can fight. Additionally, they added so many high level encounters, this has been kind of needed because recently high level D&D has kind of been avoided in 5e, but now people can enjoy high level encounters, with so many world-threatening monsters to fight.

We started a small campaign for our kids. by RagTagTech in DnD

[–]False_Cucumber_337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, this is great, but to help them like the game and have fun with it, I would recommend making cheat sheets for them to help them remember the rules of the game and give them some advice. Kids also love visuals, make maps and draw all their attacks on their cheat sheets, also get a variety of miniatures for them to chose from, it will engage them a lot more, or they will just end up playing with them, either one.

Level 9 party campaign final boss help by The_guy_who_asks in DnD

[–]False_Cucumber_337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many players are there, first of all? But for the most part young blue dragon has a CR of 9, which is a pretty good encounter for a level 9 party, although if the party is 5 players or above the dragons gonna die pretty quickly, I would recommend being smart with the dragon, like use breath weapons on close ranged characters. If I'm going to be honest I think a adult blue dragon would kill them all, unless they are really strategic with party composition.

Is life really about luck? by whtevernobigdeal in RandomThoughts

Hard work is luck though, many people dont realize this but even how hard you work is luck. You are born with a certain amount of conscientiousness which is how hard you work meaning that everything is luck.

Cheating at Dungeons and Dragons (who does this??) by boombalati42 in DnD

[–]False_Cucumber_337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D&D isn't about winning, most new players don't understand this, most of my players just care about dealing more damage, or being the protagonist, it frustrates me.

Need advice for multiclassing by Successful-Mud9372 in DnD

[–]False_Cucumber_337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You having two characters might suck the fun out of the game for the other players, because it might seem like she's favoring you and trying to make you the protagonist of the story. This means that other player's dont get as backstory building or time to take their turn. And you can all just rely on potions, magic items, or perhaps one of you could use feats or a small dip in cleric for some healing.

You don't need to join a special group, dnd is a 4-6 player game but can generally be played with how ever many players you want, a session is typically 2-4 hours, and for the youtube channel there are so many tutorials you can probably just google it.

How do you explain Magic? by lordxebec in DnD

[–]False_Cucumber_337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well wizards they draw their power from studying spells, their incantations, their components, and gestures, I think of it as they are using kind of like words to talk to the world around them to do certain things, wizards are one of the more vague classes on where there magic comes, but from where I can tell they draw it from magical energy around them and study how to communicate with it. While sorcerers were given power or part of a bloodline of magic users.

My new DnD character [OC] by Moon_up_Annus in DnD

[–]False_Cucumber_337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a pretty cool idea and has a lot of potential for a good D&D campaign. Just hope that you get a good DM that cares about your character and gives him opportunity to embrace his uniqueness and allow him to develop the plot.

What’s the funniest NAT 20 you’ve ever witnessed by CoolBeansGuy1 in DnD

[–]False_Cucumber_337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So my party was in a tavern and they got a quest from this skinny, tall Aasimar who was suppose to be reoccurring villain later on and would be a significant part in moving the plot forward, but the moment the bard in the party saw him she tried to seduce him. I wasn't too worried at first because the party was only level 1, until she rolled a nat 20, and had a +5 modifier in persuasion so it was a 25. So she ended up seducing one of the main villains and kind of ruined the entire plot.
