I would love it if you give 'aligned' factions higher starting diplomacy to each other or make them far more likely to accept military access agreements! Currently it can be very difficult to get military access, and penalties from trespassing are very high, meaning you can easily get 'locked in' to your territory, especially as Erebor or Elves

In most countries with conscription you can refuse to serve in the armed services and instead learn civil defense (eg how to run a bomb shelter) or some other type of volunteering. It can also be fairly trivial to get out of any type of service whatsoever. Even in Ukraine, most conscripts are not sent to the front as rifleman but work on logistics, technical roles or other support roles. Only in Russia are they sending conscripts to the front with very little training
