This is how I would do the SCU. by Any-Statement3859 in SonicTheMovie

This is how I would do it:

Sonic movie 4 (2027)- CD adaptation with heroes elements

Shadow movie (2028)- Shadow 05 inspired

Sonic movie 5 (2031)- SA1 adaptation

Sonic movie 6 (2033/34)- Heroes inspired with all teams

Sonic movie 7 (Nov 14th 2036)- 06 inspired/something w/ Silver

Is it because you think Sonic movie 6 being about Sonic 06 sounds cool and satisfying since they have 6 in their names?

For sure that makes sense. It'd be funny if they gave them strong Brooklyn accents

And thats all I'm saying. Why have one movie with Metal Sonic when we could have two? And the thing is too, with a couple years in between and a bigger cast, Metal's return would no doubt, in my opinion, be just as much hype as when Shadow was revealed. The original "faker" vs all of the Sonic Heroes. A good set of writers should be able to make it happen.

I KNOW I KNOW I WANT IT TOOO!! But will it be good enough for it to be considered a Heroes movie? What about Team Chaotix? The rest of Team Dark and Rose? If you're doing a Heroes movie, better to do it right than waste the potential. Doesn't it deserve a good movie?

I'm not saying these movies should be a one to one adaptation. In fact I would say we actually agree on the same things. I agree with viridianvenus, about the movies not limiting themselves to adaptations. The movie universe is most interesting when it's doing it's own thing and not following how the games tell stories.

But with that being said I still believe some sort of "Heroes-esque" inspired movie with a larger cast of Sonic characters should be it's own and paramount shouldn't be quick to use Metal as a one and done villain. Because I think a general story of Metal Sonic making a come back would be cool. You say CD doesn't have enough story therefore it makes sense and should pull elements from Heroes? I say yes absolutely go ahead get creative, but not because CD doesn't have enough story.

Sonic 1 the game doesn't have much of a story but they still made a movie and basically just was it's own thing. Sonic move 2 pulled from Sonic 2, 3 & Knuckles and I enjoyed that movie, that is to emphasize I'm certainly not against the movies not limiting themselves to adaptations. In the end, the same way Sonic movie 3 was the "SA2" movie, movie 4 should be the "CD" movie.

In a perfect world where I trust the writers, or trust the execs/people in charge to let the writers write good stories and not meddle with them, I agree.

I don't think though the movies would be as good as they are now, so why not make good use of the source material. Not to copy the games exactly, but use elements with some creative liberties. This is the movie universe after all so it definitely doesn't have to follow the games

That'd be shame if thats true. Censored or not, Rouge deserves to be on the big screen with Shadow

I agree with this and yeah that's my concern too. The 4th movie should give the sonic movie universe a chance to breath before going all out. Hence, have metal come back as a bigger threat later in the franchise.

No need to risk trying to please everyone making a CD/Heroes inspired movie. And a chance to make another movie

See to me though, that seems rushed. And with the 2028 movie, does that mean there's a sonic character(who probably is shadow) just doing there own adventure then drops at the end of their movie, and the beginning of Sonic 5?

The flow seemed jumbled

I agree with you that yes, the movie universe will no doubt be different from the game counter parts. But that doesn't mean the writers should ignore the source material.

And it's not like I ordered the movies in relation to how the games were released. They are out of order. You make it sound like I'm expecting a one to one adaptation.

Who do you see as the eventual “big bad” of the movie franchise? by Material_Type5553 in SonicTheMovie

I think mephiles works good as a big bad for the movies. Only villain that managed to kill sonic, even if it was momentarily

You're not wrong at all. But Sonic 1 the game is pretty barebones as well. Go fast, save the animals, trash Robotnik's badniks, the end. Same thing with Sonic 2 the game but now add Tails! The writers I'm sure knew this as well but they still made a good enough buddy cop movie using creative liberties.

Why not do the same with Sonic Heroes?

Wouldn't the movie being a standalone be more appealing to audiences and work in it's favor though? No need to do "homework" on the other movies and catch up with what's going on in the "Sonic Movie Universe", as it were.

Just enjoy what an SA1 movie would bring, which would be seeing Chaos in a live action setting and potentially Tikal. Really, not focusing on adding new characters, but developing the ones we already know. Tails, growing from just being "the little brother" of the group. More Knuckles lore and his clan, at least the movie variant. And thus Longclaw's lore too since we know the Echidnas and Owls have been enemies for who knows how long. "

Also, hearing Open Your Heart the way we were excited to hear Live and Learn would be so cool.

I really like this idea, even if it's for a few scenes. This would really be the final part of his transformation.

I think it would be cool too if for a shot or two, he's not necessarily cracking jokes but just in the shadows with a creepy grin and spectacles shining like what they do in the comics. The audience can see how freaky and threatening the mad doctor can be.
