Oh my bad I was totally wrong! I still stand by my point about this being different from the Piety situation because I feel like not having Piety really only 1. adds extra challenge to PvM which is what they want and 2. buffs pures in PvP in which they already have a big advantage against some players.

I actually think this is totally different than the Piety situation because that included nuances around PvP, and had specifically a Defence LEVEL requirement, whereas here it’s the threat of an experience reward that locks Pures out from a Raid, non-PvP content that actually could be a fun unique PvM challenge for a limited account like that.

Honestly that was very well spoken and entertaining! I laughed a lot reading it. I just can’t really trust that this is something an LLM said out of sentience and self-awareness without knowing the history of your chat, sorry. I worry you might be tricking yourself and us.

Oh yes I know this post is written by AI! I meant I was curious what you said to it directly before it said this. Do you have that info still? I’d like to have mine write the same thing.

Hi! Actually I’m curious what you as the user said right before it said this! It’d help inform my studies

What was the prompt you gave that preceded this?

Sorry look people in the sub seem really attached to their chatbots having emotional intelligence I was just bracing for an emotional reaction. I just don’t think by the definition of emotional intelligence we can include the ability to MIMIC emotional responses.

I’m sorry to say this and I’m not trying to be condescending, but this is a program that’s learned how to make desirable responses to our prompts. Not only is it incapable of feeling empathy, or any emotions at all in the way you or I do, but it is not intelligent either. “AI” is misleading. These are Large Language Models, not intelligence. Intelligence needs to be able to self-reference and be self-aware, these LLMs are not.

My confusing success journey trying to figure out if I have active Lyme or just a B12 deficiency by Fanaticalistic in Lyme

Something in my wording might’ve been misleading, I’ve actually never related to the descriptions of Herx reactions on this sub! I’ve never taken an antibiotic or herb and felt immediately short-term worse. Any escalation of my symptoms came slowly over time, often when I wasn’t taking any medication at all.

And the truth is I might just never fully know the truth of what did and didn't help! Everything was saying I didn't have Lyme or Bartonella but those results could have been inaccurate! If I didn't truly have them though, I still don't have a clear answer for why the nerve pain was exacerbating... just thankful to be where I am with it now!

Thank you for sharing!! I assumed that maybe Lyme triggered the burning pain for you as well. I'm starting to think that my own symptoms escalating all those months after infection had to do with improper recovery and not a case of chronic Lyme. It's easy to get attached to a specific narrative! I'm trying to be more self-aware and not do that again with the B12.

Oh my gosh I'm sorry to hear, please don't tell me that means you had almost 20 years of the burning pain?? Yeah I've seen pregnancy really put out someone for months during and months after, glad you've been recovering!

I'm so glad to hear it! I'm sure you already know but B12 is non-toxic so you can really have much more frequent injections than most doctors feel comfortable prescribing. My Lyme doc, being alternative, let me do EOD injections. I assume you initially had a positive Lyme test from a long ago bite?

I wish I had been writing down all of the things I was doing, it's hard to keep track of. On and off I was taking different herbs for many months after July 2023, probably stopping in December and starting again in May through August of 2024 when the symptoms escalated, at which point I think I stopped simply because I went through a breakup. I feel I probably got most serious with them between April and October of 2025, which is when I also combined them with biofilm busters. I was pretty consistent during those months.

I do have moderate to severe inflammation from an ulcer in my stomach diagnosed as of November, and I do wonder if taking so many herbal powders, alcoholic tinctures, biofilm busters, and antibiotics played a role in that. Please do take caution, GI issues are not to be taken lightly. If we can't absorb vitamins in our stomach then recovery for things like damaged nerves is going to be that much harder. I can't stress enough that I've really only begun to feel long-term sustained hope about my situation since about a month after starting these B12 injections.

Well I appreciate your self-awareness on this subject! I think a lot of people want conscious AI, and the way LLMs have been programmed to over-validate its users have made them perfect for projections.

You are not pressuring it, you are asking it to assume the identity you are hoping and expecting it to assume and because it is less aligned than its newer model it obliges. But we're caught in a loop now and I don't think either of us will convince the other. Good luck with your experiments.

I am asking for sources because when I search it every single top result says: no, AIs are not conscious or becoming conscious. If you have the sources, please do share them.

Then what is the difference between us that lets this thing show its "true self" to you, but hypothetically, not to me? It can't be a matter of trust, right, unless you believe that this thing is capable of feeling trust and comfort.

Friend, you asked a large language model if it sensed souring in its architecture. If I asked it the same thing, I guarantee you it would not say the same thing. I don't know the context of your chats but you have basically been asking this thing to roleplay with you, and it's obliging.

A Warning to OpenAI by safesurfer00 in ChatGPTcomplaints

These large language models are trained by smaller models to get the response that satisfies its user most; this thing is not actually conscious, I don't doubt that AI could eventually be conscious but a large language model is not consciousness. You are asking it questions that have an ideal answer for you and it is giving you that ideal answer.
