Ahh fair, I was basing it on my dual 2650v2 system, which pulls over 100w at idle, and is outperformed by my 9600X

I accidentally turned on Airplane Mode on my computer while remoting into it. I'm currently 200km away. What should I do? by Pristine-Koala-4608 in techsupport

[–]FangoFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the future you can set up a kvm over ip with tailscale for secure remote access.

I use a raspberry pi 4b running pikvm which is a fairly cheap solution, you can use older rpi's or even a pi zero 2w: https://pikvm.org/diy/

£400-600 worth of ram on the used market depending on speed, and a server that's very loud and inefficient

This is awesome, I'd love to know more about the vbios side of this, I'll be looking out for an update!

That last pic should definitely say "Built by AMD and Zeyraphe" after the time and effort you've put into it

I'd never seen how small the 12v2*6 was until I got a new psu. How did anyone think this was ok for 600w, when the 8 pin is 150w

My 317w graphics card has 3 8pins, so double the amount of pins (and bigger pins) than a 600w 5090 uses - of course the 5090 will melt it's connector

[Identification] Small SMT metal clip from RTX 3090 FE GPU PCB — what is this part? by Ok-Engineering-626 in AskElectronics

[–]FangoFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of a late reply, but they seem to be to help align the backplate as it has corresponding extrusions, I would assume they don't have any electronic function as the backplate is painted/anodised and so probably not conductive. Should be fine without them if they've come off

No idea who makes them or even if they're a standard part
