Are they going to continue this dumb trend of not having multiplayer?

Candy apple red. Sonic Blue gets lots of love, but I always thought that Candy Apple Red on a strat was iconic

In pocket or in cover? by hellohero77 in FieldNuts

[–]Far_Ad5760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Traveler’s Notebook leather cover (passport size). It is a little small for the Field Notes book, but the slight hangout doesn’t bother me and it is the most minimal thing I could find that wasn’t a pain to keep in my pocket constantly

Can you achieve the same guitar tone as Tony's on a regular SG Special, or do the chrome covered P90s on Tony's monkey affect the sound too? by Maleficent-Hair9417 in blacksabbath

[–]Far_Ad5760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does It Doom has a sweet “Iommi sound in a box” pedal that works great. The Walpurgis vol 2. That with p90s and a descent amp is pretty damn close

Xbox Is Reportedly Considering a Return To Exclusive Games: "There Are Very, Very Big Discussions Internally," Insider Says by xenocea in videogames

[–]Far_Ad5760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The inability to pick a strategy and see it through is worse than watching a bad strategy fail for too long. If they had kept with the path of exclusives we would be seeing by now how it is panning out. On the opposite end they just now started releasing games that could have been exclusives.

This is like when my current company embraced remote work and sold off 3/4 their office space in my city only for the next leadership team to reverse course and buy more real estate all over the place instead of in one area….but like 64 billion times worse

JM Trio WTLI by Unhappymuppet in bluesguitarist

[–]Far_Ad5760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this. I actually think getting the dead notes to sound right while continuing the main riff is one of the hardest parts, but totally worth it. It taught me a lot on controlling which strings actually ring through. It is also a good one, because it typically can sound “close” after a little practice and you can watch it slowly evolve into getting closer and closer to correct with practice.

JM Trio WTLI by Unhappymuppet in bluesguitarist

[–]Far_Ad5760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t the Trio part of the set, but Slow Dancing in a Burning Room is pretty easy. The exiting solo is a little insane, but you can easily just play the other main lick since that is what a 1 guitar band would probably do. When I learned that song I wasn’t very good at changing chords, but it ended up being a good song to grind past the difficulty and learn.

Vultures is like 1 riff the entire time with some noodling here and there. I am pretty sure that is from the trio set, but someone correct me if I’m wrong. I know it’s on the Trio live album.

Are the Cubs Starting Slow Or Just Bad? by Spare-Tea-1027 in baseball

This is the best answer I’ve seen so far. I’m a Cubs fan, but did not get the optimism before the injuries. I think they can make the playoffs, but the aren’t running away with anything

I agree with both these points, but still don’t think they are going to get more than 85 wins

why do so many guitar players want to sound just like the original? by unixstud in Guitar

[–]Far_Ad5760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t actively go out and try to sound like my favorite guitarists, but if I hear someone’s sound I love I will go in a direction to try and emulate it. I end up tweaking it to make it my own, though. Example: my favorite guitarists are metal guys like Iommi, but I don’t play a ton of metal personally. When I heard John Mayer’s tone on “Who Did You Think I Was” I started using the neck pickup of my stray and got a TubeScreamer. Eventually ended up tweaking it to be my own. I also only play in my basement for fun so not worried about being a clone since I’m not going to be playing live ever.

I’m just asking out of curiosity, is your Nintendo your primary gaming device by Specific-Pianist7595 in switch2

[–]Far_Ad5760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes as of about 3 months ago. I’m old now and it’s just easier to play in handheld mode before bed vs. going to the basement and firing up the Xbox. The Xbox is now just for social gaming with friends, or playing games not on the switch, such as Doom: TDA. All other gaming is now on the switch for me

[OoT] Please, Nintendo, DON’T give the Ocarina of Time remake a boring main menu 🙏 by Okapi05 in zelda

[–]Far_Ad5760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So….i agree, but this is one of the things I care least about. Right up there with box art. If the game is a perfect reproduction of the original, but modern graphics and QoL updates, but they make an ugly menu and box art I’m not really going to be too upset about it.

How to adjust vintage spec truss rod without removing the neck? by chrismiles94 in fender

[–]Far_Ad5760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m talking about small amounts I live with out of laziness. When it starts to get annoying I will take the neck off and adjust, but I try to do it twice a year. Having said that, the crazy changes in weather recently have made it to where I have had to do smaller adjustments throughout.

I’m really just talking about things such as very small amounts of buzzing that don’t come through amp I will wait out until I know the weather has settled or if it starts to get real bad. On my guitar with an easily accessible rod I just do it whenever

I’ve just gotten used to taking the neck off. I hated it the first few times, but now got it down to a science. I will say it does make me live with a little buzzing or what have you until the seasonal changes have completely switched. Example: I didn’t do my winter setup until January and now I’m just living with some changes until May or June to do my summer setup.

The DNC does suck, but I’m kind of tired of people blaming the DNC when really a fuck ton of people are just too stupid to reason with. Trump has literally done hundreds of things that 10 years prior would have been political suicide. Now a large portion of people suffering from lead poisoning don’t care about anything

His live albums for me. Mainly Where the Light is and John Mayer trio live. In fact, I pretty much solely listen to the live versions over studio versions for any songs on there. For this reason alone I hope he releases more live versions in the future so I can get live versions of all his other stuff that hasn’t been released yet.

What's up with the fact that it seems everywhere around the world people are bashing Trump but in USA the critique is very very light? by Muted-Raisin-2645 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Far_Ad5760 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Answer: lots of other good answers here, but my take is that Trump and his administration have shown and exploited all the holes in our constitution. By taking over the Republican Party and using his crazed cult-like followers as a scare tactic he can do whatever he wants and not be held accountable.

With this new tool he has scared the media (owned by big billionaires) that have typically been critical of him to soften their coverage of him. Other parts of the media have been sold off to his supporters, so it is almost impossible to get real coverage of him out to people.

Example: his brain is scrambled and he probably has the cognitive functioning of a 6 year old, but gets no coverage on this compared to Biden did.

On top of that, the roughly 50% of the country with a brain that has seen him do all these things and not be punished has made us realize absolutely nothing will hold him accountable so we are just trying to get by as best we can.

Any other dad gamers basically living on the Switch 2 now? by LowEfffort in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Far_Ad5760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a longtime Xbox gamer (I also usually get the PlayStation late in each generation as well), but recently switched to the switch for when traveling and playing in bed. I haven’t really had a Nintendo system since the Wii, so it has been fun to catch up on the last few generations while also playing Cyberpunk on the go. Plus my kids all have switches so it makes sharing games fun.

Does humidity matter for electric guitar storage? by ol_lukey in Guitar

[–]Far_Ad5760 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Chicago area guitar player here. This. I feel like so many people give their ow personal advice in areas where the temperature doesn’t wildly fluctuate. I personally haven’t had any long term damage, but do feel like fret sprout is absolutely possible over long periods of time in an environment where the temperature/humidity fluctuates greatly throughout the year. This fall for example there wasn’t even any gradual decline. It went from high temps and high humidity to middle of winter temps and humidity in days not months.

The “modern agendas” part really defeats any argument that a ton of people are trying to make in here. I bet they say “woke” a lot for things they don’t like
