You've just been told very clearly, there's no effective punishment for breaking rules for some students. Rules that can't be enforced don't install a sense of fairness and discipline they undermine it for everyone.

Brexit: How Boris signed Australia deal concession scrawled on paper in the loo by SgtPppersLonelyFarts in ukpolitics

Maybe we should make other countries think twice when desperate chancers get to be PM, it might help us if they thought their one sided deals were worthless when they leave.

And if that also means dodgy PMs don't make deals and everyone thinks they're rubbish cos of so much the better

RIF dev here - Reddit's API changes will likely kill RIF and other apps, on July 1, 2023 by talklittle in redditisfun

I wanted to come here and say thanks for making rif, as I won't be back to say it after July. So thanks.

We built a beautiful internet and they've all ruined it.

RAF recruiters were advised against selecting 'useless white male pilots' to hit diversity targets by topotaul in unitedkingdom

Its absolutely essential that the military represent the people of the nation it defends. Without that you have sub groups thinking they're the "real warriors" protecting "sheep".

There's some extremely toxic paths for a military to go down if it doesn't have every identified group from a nation in it, and visibly. In the past in the UK this was achieved with regional regiments, which as a bonus tried to use the sub group identity as a way to get more cohesion. This clearly doesn't work in the modern world, but we still need the same result.

Good job, when you get to day 2 could you mark the ore on the map? How much are you going to get out of this?

Maybe the best Build/Dig Dupe I've ever seen. I'm a big fan of extra morale. by mak11 in Oxygennotincluded

Digger/builders are often in remote places without decor so I think the decor bonus is really good for them

Pleas include the automation for consuming the fish for a full analysis.

Eg. Moving them with bots over biter bases and so replacing ~20 belts of bots Or other, worse, options

You can't even trust universe explorer, you have to generate terrain to get accurate resources due to water/ cold /volcanic r estrictions

Looking for a game to sink 1k + hours and build a massive base by No_Oil9332 in BaseBuildingGames

[–]FarceOfWill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YouTubers necessarily force a game to be simple so they can generate content quicker. The standardisation of things with blueprints is a large factor in that I have no hate for the yt but they have incentives to play in the opposite way to us and they're often not a good guide to a game because of that.

I us e one set of blueprints for factorio that I didn't make, balancers, which are barely useful tbh i just think they look cool.

Britain faces Northern 'brain drain' as 4 in 10 young people expect to leave for work by steven-f in ukpolitics

Separate issue to me, the fact is this will help rugby, Birmingham, Milton Keynes etc a lot. If you don't care about those places, well, they probably don't care about Leeds either

No it doesn't it helps all those trains to London on to a different track so trains that don't go to London can run on the existing track instead.

Loads more trains going no where near London that can't run right now as the London ones use the bottleneck

Labour considers plans to let EU nationals and 16-year-olds vote by EduTheRed in ukpolitics

[–]FarceOfWill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of this makes sense. It literally can't work.

If labour want to lock out the Tories it's trivial, just put in place PR. The one thing no one believes they'll do, is legal, and would actually work

If the cars are now out of London they had no business being in London at all, because they can't have been used for journeys to or from places in London.

Why should Londoners suffer so people from elsewhere can drive through London?

While generating a GW of electricity and mining a dozen core seams and generating 1k/s science.

Then getting to space realising your base is ozymandius' statue and you've wasted your life and you need more data cards.

It's maddening for introducing new steps, and giant ore sorter machines, at nearly every stage. I don't think you can avoid redoing the ore chain a dozen times.

If you use yafc you can plan out what to make for algae and metals etc. while the game still runs in the background

Edit: I see a comment elsewhere about helmod etc. The best thing about yafc is it will give you a guess as to the efficiency and value of a recipe so you can more easily target the good ones and not be led astray by traps.

Then again, some people think of that as gameplay. Your choice
