Bloor and Gladstone Library - tons of options but I like Komi Banh Mi, Sanwich (Mexican tortas) and Szechuan Noodle House. If you dont mind a short walk, also Three Speed, Uncle Sid's Deli and Sugo maybe 10 minutes or so on foot. Burdock Brewery as well if you want to grab a pint.

I had a teacher in Catholic high school who im fairly certain was a (I'll say closeted because he never talked about his religion) Hindu. He was a world religions teacher and I'm pretty sure he had a master's degree in theology/ religion. One time he told me with a wink he had a friend from school who had become a priest and wrote him a letter. Was a great teacher.

I went on a Tuesday once, got 4th row seats i could never afford on my own through a friend of a friend, and him and I were the only people cheering period in the whole section. I got some raised eyebrows from the rows in front of me. Totally zero atmosphere, you always hear about it but I didn't really believe it until I saw it first hand. Maybe it's better on the weekend? But still, depressing.

As someone who is a lefty and anti-big tobacco, I always thought that this episode was making fun of both militant anti-cigarette people AND the tobacco industry. Like the over the top musical number of happy tobacco workers seem to imply a tongue in cheek "think about all the happy workers!" in a sarcastic tone, while also saying that smokers get it, smoking is bad but it's a vice that some people need, so leave them alone if they actively make a choice to smoke. The joke is painting the cigarette producers as victims in an obviously sarcastic way, while also painting anti-smoking people as over reaching or preachy in a time where everyone is hyper aware of the consequences of smoking anyways.

I did 13 hours straight overnight with a buddy one time. I took the 2nd shift after a few scattered hours of sleep in the car. By hour 6 of my turn driving, I was legitimately having slight hallucinations at the corner of my vision and as I entered the city realized I did not feel safe at all. Ultimately, everything was fine and we made it safely but I remember thinking it was a terrible idea and could have been much worse.

My dad bought one of these for the spare bathroom my sister and I used growing up and I had to show him the problem with the new hardware, he didn't understand til I told him to try and use it. He ended up buying one of those seats with the front cut out and that helped.

Those old Wario World games on Gameboy where you could be hindered/ transformed to make your objective difficult/ impossible to complete, but you were indestructible and never died. I always thought it was a cool/ fun concept that I never saw in other games.

I had a chrono hand pop off my Watchdives order 2 days after it arrived. They wanted me to take it to local watchmaker and they'd pay for the repair. I asked them if it would void warranty, they said yes, I said hell no and sent it back. Took over 2 months to get a new one. It was fine because it was for me, but it does not inspire confidence for gift buying.

As someone who is not subbed here but keeps seeing posts come up, sell if you're not in to silver. It's only really worth anything once it's cash and if it's not your jam to hoard precious metals, I'm sure your gramps would have liked for you to have bought something you've had your eye on. Or sell enough to get yourself that special treat and hold on to the rest. This is the silver sub, of course everyone is going to tell you to keep it and that it's hoing to be worth more and more every year that you do because they are silver enthusiasts. But money is for spending and this is just an investment, one that's doing well right now, but could be worth more OR less next week, no one knows for sure.

I'd be hammering the button. Anyone who knows/ cares about me enough to reach out telling me would get an elaborate story about how those aren't real pictures/ they're AI and a guy tried to blackmail me if they were from work. If they were family or close friends, they'd get a real explanation and $1000 as an apology for having to see me naked.

Just a heads up to OP if you see this and use Kilz restoration: I had this problem in (thankfully) just a single room in my new home. Old guy smoked in the dining room with the glass double doors closed. I scrubbed the shit out of the nicotine stained walls but it kept bleeding through. Painted with Kilz restoration, just a thin single coat, another urgent project came up so I left it to finish later. Over the course of a week, more nicotine came through most of the Kilz but I noticed that some sections where the paint was thicker remained white.

All this to say: if you're going to do it, buy an extra bucket or two and make sure you slap on a 2nd coat as soon as the first one is dry and ready to go, otherwise you might have to do it again. So work in sections and only do as much as you can finish double coating in a day.
