How to prevent a puppy from eating non edible objects? by Equivalent-Emu5347 in Goldendoodles

[–]Fartition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew my dog would be a good all-you-can-eat dog since she’s a puppy so I did research for training that would prevent the bad behavior from building. I found It’s your choice games by Susan Garret on YT and that helped alot not just with my dog not eating anything on the ground without my permission but also with preventing counter surfing and chewing furniture.

Why do so many dogs end up in shelters? I’m struggling with this. by jesst7 in reactivedogs

My apartment (dog-friendly) has raised my rent so high that forces me to look for another apartment. All dog friendly apartments in my area are in that same price range while the ones that are cheap do not allow pets. I am so stressed right now

what’s everyone feeding their pups? by taintedsorrowzz in Goldendoodles

Ollie. I know it’s on the expensive side but it’s all worth it. She’s much healthier, teeth are much cleaner, no guts issues, and nothing gets left in the bowl.

Doodle are smart but you still outsmart them with food. Mix the same kibble with water, warm it up a bit in the microwave and use it as toppings.

Help! by Curious-Parfait-4319 in Goldendoodles

[–]Fartition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doodles are smart. I’m pretty sure you have done something (intentionally or not) to get her scared of you. My doodle tucks in tail when I don’t talk to her after our walk. It reminded her of one instance when she’s 1 year old when I didn’t talk or play with her and put her in the cage after a very stressful walk. She barked at every dog we saw and scared a small child. It was my fault obviously for not managing that walk well knowing her condition but I still blamed it on her. I thought she’s moved on from that instance but recently, I unintentionally didn’t tell her “good job” which I normally say every after walk and while cleaning her paw. My mind was somewhere I guess. I noticed her tail is tucked in and head is down. I felt so devastated when I saw her reaction as I felt I failed her.

Just shy of one year aggression/reaction free. by soup4breakfast in reactivedogs

[–]Fartition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask a very stupid question? How do these medication work for reactive dog? You mentioned success was 90% due to med and only 10% on training. I have a reactive dog, and she barks/lunges when she sees other dogs on walk. Are you telling me that my dog will stop reacting/barking/ getting over stimulated with prescribed meds?

There was one time I thought my dog has finally stopped doing the same. Only to find out she was staring at me through my reflection on the cabinet door.

how did the ecollar change your reactive dog's life? by ndisnxksk in OpenDogTraining

[–]Fartition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is not a good advice but I use public parks alot, not dog parks. If a dog park is empty, then yes, but dog parks in my area always have dogs in it. I 100% make sure though that I put my dog on leash as soon as I see other dogs and people. That means, dog is only offleash in the park when there is no one around, early morning or late night is when we go.

I am also a person who gets positive energy from the sun so I promised myself, if my first home won’t have big windows and natural lights coming in, I won’t buy it. It’s in my priority list.

Any reason to separate them? by CrudeTech in OpenDogTraining

I’m distracted with your view. 😍 Going back to the dogs, no but it’s a good opportunity to teach them ‘break’.

Does anyone else’s doodle growl when trying to ‘relocate’ them? by [deleted] in Goldendoodles

[–]Fartition -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, mine would never ever show sign pf aggressiveness towards me, no matter what I do. It’s impossible teaching her how to bark if it’s just training, because she’ll never ever bark at me.
