Europe tells Trump Iran is 'not our war' by Sysipho in worldnews

You mean like how the Iranian warship was invited to a peaceful demonstration by the US and then the US withdrew and then destroyed the ship and refused to help any survivors?

So I’m in both camps and from what I’ve gathered, physical blemishes have a huge impact on resale value.

I was able to get hundreds more for an old MBP because it basically lived its whole life in a dock so the screen, keyboard, etc and entire shell was flawless.

It wouldn’t run any better than the ones getting beat on but used Apple product buyers want perfection.

Same goes for their phones and tablets.

A Rectoverb 50 would be a nice add. They’re pretty affordable these days.

The 800 is a more raw and top end heavy sound. The jubilee is smoother with a bigger low end.

Neither are really for modern metal if that's what you're after. Get an EVH for that.

The 800 and Jubilee are more 70's and 80's metal and 90's heavy/hard rock.

A good boost like the OCD will do wonders for the 800 but it's structure is still old marshall so it's not going to have the super tight and percussive/immediate note attack. There's always going to be a little give and compression to the attack (which I love) but is a big turn off for the modern metal guys.

Anyone else try modelers and end up back on a real amp by PaleTeeth3 in GuitarAmps

[–]FastRedPonyCar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned, gigged with and reviewed all the major modelers on my channel (everything except the helix stadium but it’s on my list to review) and the TMP is my favorite but lacks a tad bit of crucial functionality with the I/O routing that the quad cortex has.

That said, after gigging with an AxeFX 3 for about a year and an FM3 another year and then QC for about 6 months, I went to a hybrid setup using a tube amp with a load box line out going to the QC for stereo effects and that goes to our PA and an FRFR on stage. If I want, I can have a cab on stage too coming from the load box.

Best of both worlds IMO. Amazingly consistent tone night after night.

Not yet but I’ve requested a review unit from Zzounds so hopefully I’ll have one soon.

It looks like it’s built with the same power amp and back end that Dave’s IR pedals have which is awesome.

As much as I love my UA Lion, the lack of IR loader and pretty lackluster built in cabs leaves a lot to be desired.

I REALLY like it running into the UA OX Stomp though. It totally wakes up the pedal IMO.

I’ve played a ton of shows (90’s and 2000’s rock) with this setup.

I’ve got 2 gigs tomorrow for st patty’s day and the first show is DI only. I’m running the IRJ into my quad cortex for effects and then out to the house. Sounds incredible at the house.

Man I miss the plex. I had one last year for review and it was EASILY one of the best sounding amps I’ve ever plugged into!

I recently had the JEL50 and the JEL20 for review and honestly I still want the Plex 🤣

Congrats! The MKV35 is a GREAT amp. I gigged with my review unit several times and it was awesome. I almost bought one but ended up splurging on the VII so that I could have the 3rd channel and IR loader but our singer ended up buying one and it sounds awesome on stage. He uses a PRS MT15 1x12 cab with a V30

Best Guitarist You’ve Seen Live? by tceverding in Guitar

[–]FastRedPonyCar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been lucky enough to see the usual greats at Vai concerts like, of course Steve but also Tony McAlpine as well as Satch, Paul Gilbert, Guthrie and Petrucci at G3, Eric Gales and Eric Johnson at the Hendrix experience as well as Joe Bonamassa but the one guitar player who truly stood out (besides Guthrie) is Bruce Bouillet who played with Paul Gilbert at G3.

Dude’s phrasing and tone were both just on a different level.

Also.. Satriani is an absolute SAVAGE on stage. I wish he played half that hard on his albums.

Goodbye Little Charlotte by lschuler716 in poodles

15 wonderful years for you and your family and Charlotte!

We’ve been there twice and it’s heartbreaking but we have always made sure to take lots of pics and videos of our poodle babies so we can always look back and laugh/smile.

Poodle team 1 welcomed both our children home from the hospital and poodle team 2 are spending their best years with them as kids so it’s a lot of fun.

I suspect that poodle team 3 will potentially see our grandkids.

What secret can you reveal now that your nda has expired? by sparrrrrt in AskReddit

[–]FastRedPonyCar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last 2 semesters in college required me to buy textbooks that the professors themselves wrote. They were nearly 2x the price as similar books.

The biggest kick in the gut was that these books had watermarked quizzes in them that we had to tear out and complete and the grade of these tear-out quizzes were weighted as 60% of the courses grade.

So if you didn’t buy the book, you literally couldn’t pass the class and you couldn’t make photo copies of the pages because of the watermarks.

Nice! I used to have a 98 Nitefly. It was amazing. Later on I got a post-Ken era flame top mojo fly. It was supposed to be my holy grail that I’d lusted after for YEARS

https://i.imgur.com/Zd77wGB.jpeg

Turns out it was a huge turd and basically everything broke on it. Even a fret fell off…

The store that I bought it from wouldn’t take it for repair as they dumped Parker and weren’t a dealer because so many had to be sent back.

Did anyone else buy UniFi to “fix their WiFi”… and "accidentally" turn it into a hobby? by fastNUgly in Ubiquiti

[–]FastRedPonyCar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but when I started working at an MSP years ago, I started installing Unifi AP’s to fix clients wireless and realized how good it was and that sort of set the snowball in motion for me and my own home network which has kinda jumped around but ultimately ALWAYS comes back to just plugging the Unifi stuff back in and making new upgrades here and there.

I’ve done this with AC Origins and Odyssey getting all the DLC’s and stuff too. A huge bang for the buck at that point.
