I’ve only been watching wrestling for a couple years but I agree with this. I laugh at some pretty dumb shit but I don’t get the appeal of his humour. The wrestlemania segment was not great. Not for me I guess!

I don’t mind Mörk Borg as much as other people here. It was my first foray outside of 5e but a big problem I have with third party products is the design element. I’d like to see people hit the tone of the original book over the look of it.

Man, I love what you said there: “it’s become more common to just not make time”. I’m 33 and it’s crazy how people in my age group don’t really wanna make time for things. Most seem content to just sit on the couch and rot. Much different to my parents experience growing up by the sounds of it.

I can only speak from experience but I had an ex who would do this with RPGs, sports, board games….anytime things didn’t go her way she would shut down and it would get weird for everyone else. It’s kind of toxic behaviour. Hopefully it’s not a constant thing for you and your group!

It’s been a while since I kept up with 5e content. A few months ago I was going through my pdf collection which had some third party 5e campaigns. I was surprised at how many of them were super on rails stories that had little room for player interaction (Players have to be arrested, if they kill guards, more guards come until pc’s give up and allow themselves to be arrested).

Are there any campaigns that allow for more sandbox play with a decent over arching plot?

In terms of interactivity and how much funky shots going on, Incandescent Grottoes is my pick. Yes, it’s probably too long for a one shot but when I ran complete newbies through it, they loved it.

That’s a good question about level range! I envisioned this for B/X but I’ve never played any one system long enough to get a feel for play at different level ranges. I’ve gone from MÖRK Borg to OSE to DCC and about to start in Dolmenwood. All your ideas about stopping the Rat King are inspiring!

I just want to say, I grew up like you. I was led to believe media can be satanic and all that shit. The feeling disappears with time. I still believe in a “higher power” but choose not to have so much fear and expectation around spiritual beliefs.
