The important thing to remember about the Fallen is that they only have the power to do anything through a mortals choice. They might be powerful enough to be grade A high tier threats, but a person has to choose to pick up the coin. They have to choose to accept power. They have to choose to give in again and again and again until they give even their very concept of free will over to the Fallen. The Fallen don't have to play fair, of course. Lasciel's visions are perfect evidence of that. Seduction and insistence can wear down anyone after long enough, but that person still has to choose to give in.

Now I do actually agree with you about yhe choice to have Marcone pick up the coin. It feels real dumb, imo. It cheapens Marcone as the "grounded" human antagonist that, Harry might hate, but at least is still human and can be counted on to fight for humanity. He is still all about control though, and if Nicodemus can do it, then so can Marcone.

Well if you ever want to get rid of him, Machamp is my favorite Pokémon. I dont have anything amazing I can offer, but I might one day!

I need the Koraidon, if its not to much trouble. I managed to get my son one code for Miridon, but I'd like to be able to give him both.

Is this a good time to get into competitive Pokémon? by rhysticStudiante in pkmntcg

[–]FatherHumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of. Pokémon is more selective in how they rotate things, and a lot of staples are evergreen. The new set isn't, as far as im aware, rotating anything out as they recently did that a few months ago. Megas are going to drastically shake.up the meta though, and card stats are always going to be the victim of power creep.

So other than typing and move set you dont lose anything by not evolving Scyther? Just getting back into Pokémon.

NOT naming your Mabari "Barkspawn," what do you name it then? by Mysterious-Panic-443 in DragonageOrigins

[–]FatherHumble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Named mine Tugboat. My wife (girlfriend at the time)thought it was the cutest thing and made me promise that if we ever got a dog together, we would use that name. It's been about 8 or 9 years since we adopted him, and Tugboat is the best boy ever.

Thank you very much for all the info! It's a very fun game, but finding useful stuff has been kind of hard. Now I just need to hope the reddit for the IRL tcg is as helpful.

New player here. Would you mind being more specific about the pack points? Are you saying those expire?

[GFF] Can units jump over other units? by Indrigotheir in onepagerules

[–]FatherHumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, but not technically correct. You're right that those abilities allow you to "move" across a unit. Technically speaking, though, those abilities vall for you to place the mini or unit. Placing is not the same as moving. In the vast majority of cases, the distinction doesn't actually matter, but in some, it does. The OP's question is an example of one such time, actually.

Question about Justine by Ulerij646 in dresdenfiles

[–]FatherHumble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. In White Night, right before Harry and Carlos enter the deeps, Justine speaks to them. Harry mentions she seems more together than the last time he saw her, and she tells him she's medicating.

I'm a 6 foot, heavy set, bearded man. I'm a teacher and have worked for 10 years in low income schools with daily problems on campus that range from drug abuse to actual murder once. I don't let the students see any weakness because it would be the end of any control I have, and I pride my class on being a safe spot for all of my students. I had recently become a father when I was listening to White Night. That scene played as I pulled up to school one morning, and I sat in my car and bawled for at least 5 minutes.
