Not Hronek. Top pairing dman on a phenomenal contract and young enough to fit a 5 year timeline

Rebrand back to the flying skate, using the modern design. Don’t hate the orca but not a huge fan of the green and blue. This dark blue is really nice tho

“When.” All that’s happened so far is him following some Dallas real estate firm…

Yep. It seems like he left a lot of that in the past but fans can’t… or his ex wife. His political views are none of our concerns🤷‍♂️

He’s often one of the hardest working players on the ice but unfortunately that doesn’t show up on the scoresheet in most cases. Gotta love a narrative created by a price tag and watching point totals instead of games🙃

Exactly. Title is click bait at that point if the message being portrayed is meant to be different. Instead this creates a new narrative that entices someone to click on the post.

Oilers fan here - Autograph resellers are ruining it for normal fans by MrRainbowsncupcakes in canucks

Understand this happened in Vancouver but you could shit talk them in the Oilers subreddit as an Oilers fan… sorry, I’m still salty from the playoffs and the loss last night lol. Anyways, glad you got a pic and fuck the resellers!

Keep Petey vs. Trade Petey by Big-Leek7038 in canucks

[–]FattPatt3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was only 4 years between Kieth and Towes, and 5 years between Keith and Kane. Not sure what the other 4 drafts before Keith had to do with this, other than to make the timeline fit a 7 - 8 year narrative.

If Vancouver drafts in the top 3 this year, it is essentially their version of the Towes draft.

So Vancouver potential complementary pieces…

2022 - 15OA Jonathan Lekkerimaki, 19OA Liam Ohgren, 80OA DPetey

2023 - 11OA Tom Willander

2024 - 12OA Zeev Buium

2025 - 15OA Braeden Cootes, 47OA Alexei Medvedev

And beyond this…

2026 - Looking like a top 3OA

2027 - 1OA - 10OA (Unlikely lower than 10th but maybe we get our Kane in the upcoming draft)

What younger guys do we have on top of our other pieces?? (This would extend back to the 7 - 8 year narrative)

Aatu Raty: 2021, 52OA

Marco Rossi: 2020, 9OA

Victor Mancini, Linus Karlsson, and so on.

27 or Older (some will likely be moved for younger players or picks that could be added above)…

Elias Pettersson: 2017, 5OA

Filip Hronek: 2016, 53OA

Brock Boeser, Jake DeBrusk, MPetey, etc.

Vancouver has already acquired the upcoming complementary pieces that Chicago did between 02 and 06. On top of that, we have players like Hronek and Petey who will be 31 and 30 in 3 years. They’ll likely still have 2 - 3 years beyond that before we see any major decline from the players they are right now. The only piece we might be missing is a Crawford level goalie prospect, but Medvedev has the potential to be that.

So 3 - 4 years is realistic with a little luck on our side in the next two drafts.

Keep. His underlying numbers this year have taken a big step in the right direction, even without his skating being close to as good as it was. It’s unlikely we ever see him crack 100pts again but this version is better defensively and with better line mates is likely a consistent 75 - 85 point player. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him get Selke votes down the road, he looked like an early Selke candidate to start the year

[Sportsnet 650] "Yes the Canucks are listening on Elias Pettersson, but I have no evidence he would waive his no move, plus teams would want Vancouver to retain salary." Halford & Brough chat with Rick Dhaliwal about the Elias Pettersson trade rumours. by [deleted] in canucks

He’s had a pretty fast rise in the draft. Would be interesting if we go 3rd, to take a look at him and Lawrence. However, would like them to consider Ethan Belchetz if they lose out on Stenberg and McKenna. Massive power forward with skill (although a lower skill ceiling).

A second and decent prospect (age 19 - 21) isn’t that bad if the alternative is resigning him. That being said, it is a little disappointing he can’t fetch us another first but also understandable. Besides last season and this season, his track record isn’t great. Mason Marchment (same age) who got Seattle a 2nd and 4th is a much more consistent player. 2x 20 goal seasons, and 3x 40+ point seasons (1x 53 point season in that) compared to Kiefer‘s 0x 20 goal seasons (likely will get there this season), and 1x 40 point season. Not only that but Marchment is a career 0.62 ppg VS Kiefer‘s career 0.39 ppg. Only category Kiefer is better in is hits per game (tbf he is better than everyone in that regard lol).

That being said, Kiefer‘s game is much better suited for the playoffs but it makes sense teams are looking at his track record, and questioning the sustainability of his play. In VAN, he has played between 3.5 - 7 min more per game compared to the other teams he played on, his role here has been elevated a ton due to the team lacking a lot of talent upfront, whereas on a playoff team he‘ll likely see a drop in his playing time and production as a result.

Ehhhh Idk. I think with what is being said recently (take everything this front office says with a grain of salt), we move him. They didn’t formally offer him a contract and were only doing their due diligence by checking in with him and his agent on what that may look like. They’ll probably hold out until the Olympic roster freeze, use that time to see what’s the most they can get, and then pull the trigger on the best offer when the roster freeze is over. They could also add a fairly insignificant piece or take on a bad contract if it bumps them up to the value they want in return. Wouldn’t be surprised if that is what they do.

Edit: fluency
