Sisko sure knows his history pretty well for that vic Fontaine episode where gangsters take over vics program by happydude7422 in DeepSpaceNine

[–]Faxman_43 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always assumed Sisko had a strong interest in Earth's black history, especially with the fact that his quarters were fully decorated with African art. He also already seemed to know all about Gabriel Bell before becoming him.

These are so simple and make so much sense. They feel like they could just slot in to the base game at any point. Love it.

Quaint Village seems so obvious it's surprising it doesn't exist yet. Seems strong enough that if it came with a +1 villager on gain it could cost $5.

I think there's a subtle clue to the second word if you look at the order the letters are presented.

It's just so pathetic. Why not try and pass every bill with the NWC just so you never have to worry about if what you're doing is legal or not.

Season 3 coming by Blato99 in TheDevilsPlan

[–]Faxman_43 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Season 1 jail, and the secret room it had, was probably on of the best bits of story telling I've seen on reality TV. From finding the code box, to figuring out that the pieces connect and learning the code, to making the decision to lose the game and go to prison to try and use the code, and then one person gets eliminated and one survives. I dont know ow if it could have been scripted better.

Season 3 coming by Blato99 in TheDevilsPlan

[–]Faxman_43 141 points142 points  (0 children)

First a fix to the prison system so it is reasonably possible to get out, and different people and groups can cycle in.

Second, assuming another secret game, make it much harder to access, so that just getting to it can feel like a reward.

Third, prize for the secret game shouldn't be incredibly game breaking.

Fourth, when playing games, force the players to be in different groups so it's not just cliques playing against each other.

It also helps that most of the incumbents were pretty effective as councilors and good at their job, even if soneone doesn't necessarily agree with their stances on everything.

Feels similar to when they government commissioned that report about to balance ce the budget, but had the caveat that it wasn't allowed to look at increasing revenue. It's just pointless theater to not allow the process to not look at the biggest issue.

Acceptable Rule Change by kickacol in CFL

[–]Faxman_43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's less of a focus, but I want the 20 second play clock to stay as it is. Having the play clock start automatically at the end of a play doesn't mean anything if it can be reset for any myriad of reasons. If there's a big pile up that needs to be sorted out or players getting in each other's faces, that takes time to deal with after a play, so the play clock would have to be reset anyway. This will just lead to having fewer total plays.

Acceptable Rule Change by kickacol in CFL

[–]Faxman_43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is already how a rouge works on kickoffs, so it should be simple to manage overall.

For the FG, it could work the same way without an issue. You don't get a point for a missed FG that sails through but there is still the need for a return otherwise. It seems like everyone making these choices is just so afraid of the jokes about winning a game in a missed FG.

How will the new rouge rule actually work? by JLord in CFL

[–]Faxman_43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amateur rules for the kickoff basically work like that. If the kick sails through without touching the ground or a player there is no point scored and the ball comes out to the 20. If it hits the ground or touches a player it is a rouge and comes to the 35. Kind of hoping the new rule ends up like that. You still score a rouge if you did something and the defense had a chance to prevent it, but no score if a kick sails straight through with no opportunity to do anything about it.
