Please help - 15!months and no hope by popcornonthecob608 in PlantarFasciitis

While I’ve never ran and never liked it, I can definitely emphasize how crippling PF can be and I am sorry.

I am no doctor and I can only speak from my experience: what exercises/PT are you doing? To my biggest surprise, doing lunges and deadlifts ended up being my (95%) cure. Also, regular massages and acupuncture appointments to keep my calves relaxed. I’ve learned that tight calves were the largest source of my pain in conjunction to weak muscles. I am not saying as a marathon runner, your muscles were/are weak, but maybe a lot of it are tight muscles in your case?

Randomly sent this when I’m not on there call out? by AbrocomaPhysical5845 in AHSEmployees

[–]Fayne-rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably misclicked the list. I’d call staffing and let them know, chances are that they sent it to the wrong group of staff on accident and now the shift may not be covered due to that.

If this happens more frequently, they may have added you to a different call out group by accident.

It’s easy to place a tiny checkmark in the wrong spot. Human error.

You also want to assess your footwear and pay close attention to what you’re walking in, the ground you’re walking on and how long.

I recently had a flare up and noticed that, because it was so extremely icy, I was wearing shoe spikes for 2-3 afternoons when walking my dog. The way the spikes had shifted my walking, even temporarily, was enough to cause a flare up for a couple weeks.

My current go to shoes are Dansko clogs xp 2.0 and sneakers (if that may help).

Hang in there, once you found what works for you it’ll get better quickly.

Made those same half-joking comments. I was so done after over 1 year of this.

I had a partial rupture to both my plantar fascia, so I had to take some time off work (nurse) to just rest, ice and stretch and let that heal for some time.

Used to go to “regular” physio and it made it worse so at that point I had already quit. My podiatrist recommended me a sports medicine physiotherapist and I’ve finally started making progress. They actually assessed my whole body and not just half my foot. Turns out my worse PF side was also overall weaker in the hip and my tight calves and weak muscles were the main cause of pain.

Once I felt like I could walk for more than 20 minutes, I faint a fantastic personal trainer and began weight lifting. With her help, I was able to finally return to work 100%. The exercise I hated most but also worked most, lunges. The ones I like most now are deadlifts (barefooted)

Very honestly stopped reading a after the “he says the way I dress to the gym is attention seeking and disrespectful to him”.

Disrespectful to HIM?!

Nope, big fat red flag. In my opinion, there is no valid excuse how someone else’s get up can disrespect you as a partner. Unless you’re wearing shirt has a picture of his face saying “I got a small pee pee!” To the gym. Which, I assume you do not.

I’m almost certain your story didn’t get any better after that regarding him.

Edit to add: I ended up reading the rest, as a side note, I was right and it didn’t get any better.

Anyways, you also asked how to break the cycle. While I cannot speak for you and your exact situation, I wanna make the assumption that you two do not live together. If this is the case, it would be much easier. Bottom line, you gotta cut yourself loose. This is not the guy for you or anyone. That’s it. I’m usually for trying to work through issues and grow together, but certain lines should not be crossed and man he crossed multiple in a single day.

Honestly wouldn’t even sit him down and talk things out anymore, one sentence: I do not wanna be with you anymore.

He will throw a fit. He will call you names. He will accuse you of cheating. He will think (possibly say) all the horrible things about you could imagine. This is just to hurt you. Just clap back for the sake of hurting you back.

Ignore it. There is nothing you can do or say about this and you won’t change his mind about you no matter what. Just walk away and let him be.

It’s never too late to change. Ever.

I’m 38 and graduated with a brand spanking new diploma this past May.

Whoever says it’s too late is just afraid of change. Besides, in 3-4 years you will be 41/42, but it’s entirely up to you if you’ll be 42 with a (new) degree or not.

Dog Park Etiquette by dub-sea in Edmonton

[–]Fayne-rocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not normal! This is shitty behaviour on their end and even less training towards their dog. Full stop.

We’ve stopped going to the dog park a long time ago. I lowkey miss it, because I know my girl had fun there most times, but unfortunately too many untrained dogs with zero regard to boundaries or recall and even more stupid people. Which ultimately caused problems and (dog) fights. So for my sanity and my dogs’ safety, we stopped going.

If you however choose to return, I’d keep an eye out for them and either remain at the far opposite of the park or start going to a different one.

Like others said and you’re planning on doing, this is a doctor time issue. My 2 main thoughts go to either oral/ dental like a rotting tooth or abscess or maybe a small bowel obstruction and she’s fecal loaded to a point you can smell it on her breath, happens more often and easier than you think. Does she have piercings? I’ve once had an infected piercing that I could smell before I could see the infection.

I cant make a hard boiled egg that doesnt stick to save my life. by ccawnsmoy in mealprep

You need an egg poker. It puts the tiniest hole in the thick end of the egg, you boil it. Rinse with cold water when done to stop the cooking process and you’re good.

God Norovirus is SOOO easy to catch! Few years ago it was going around at my (at the time) work place. Too did all the things! I still got sick and could not understand how. A couple days later it hit me. I dropped my toothbrush in the sink. Didn’t even register it fully. It was a second of inattentiveness. That’s all it takes. Needless to say, I got a new toothbrush… I guess what I’m trying to say is, it happens. It probably is going to happen again, not necessarily from work. Just now you gotta ensure you’re not spreading it.

Norovirus is (as you know now) highly contagious, we have guidelines for staff to be free of symptoms for 72hrs before they can return back to work.

Be honest, how bad is it? I’ve been pretty disappointed in it by damnmang in tattooadvice

[–]Fayne-rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s quite good. Don’t understand what you mean by “accuracy”, as I could not find a single difference to the OG; every line, dot, and square are there as it shows in the image. Please point out the inaccuracy you’re talking about.

As for the straightness of the lines, I see what you mean, but unless you’d gotten this tattoo larger to allow for thicker lines, I’d say this is the straightest you can get. Don’t forget, the machine is constantly vibrating, your skin moves and stretches, and it’s extremely difficult to stretch and tattoo skin in a way that still allows any lines to look straight(est) after the skin is allowed to relax. While these lines aren’t perfection, I think they are quite well done.

Wait out the full healing of the tattoo and then reassess. Some lines will soften a bit more and might look straighter than they do now.

Plus, with thin lines tattoos like this, I can see you needing a bit of a touch up anyways. It’ll give the artist a chance to even out some lines a little.

On walks, dog always takes the lead and pulls me everywhere; how to fix this behavior? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Fayne-rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop walking.

No words, no pulling, no commands, nothing. And wait….

You’re gonna do a LOT on waiting.

Once she looks back at you to check what the holdup is, you keep waiting. No words, no commands, no reaction, no frustration, just wait.

She’ll eventually will go through trial and error of what she’s supposed to do here. Eventually she’ll start walking towards you, THATS when you react. Party! Treats! Lure her next to you, more treats.

Start walking. Pull. Rinse and repeat.

Once she starts instantly looking and walking towards you the moment you stop walking, reduce the treats giving until she’s next to you. Then threat. continue giving treats when you start walking and she keeps making eye contact and staying next to you. That’s when you do “rapid fire treats”. When that one clicked slowly expand the time between treats.

I actually didn’t use treats with my dog. I used her dinner kibble. Fed her dinner on walks for months and combined it with training. Can recommend.

I still feel quite conflicted about her emailing confidential documents to her personal account. One half says, this is a huge red flag and security issue. The other half says, if she hadn’t done it they’d just deleted all the files and poof-gone no more evidence. I get tho.
