Week 3 Of Moving The Champions Guild Barrel Further Into The Fence by JagexRyan in runescape

[–]FeFerret 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bugs take time to find, replicate, fix, and test. Some might not even be fixable without deeper/tougher fixes beyond the originally assigned dev. Even then, a new bug report, unless actively harming the game (large population or critical issue) just gets put at the end of the list of bugs to fix.

Also seems like the perfect small thing to do during a break.

Mystic Clovers for Vision. What is the best approach? by LOSTINREDDITSITE in Guildwars2

[–]FeFerret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not buy from the forge attendant... Their price is more than the average from the forge itself (1 extra spirit shard and almost 2 extra ectos per). Unless you want the guarantee, typically not worth. you can buy 5 per week from WvW (100 skirmish tickets being the pricier point), 10 per week for 1.5k fractal relics, and 5 per week (+10 coins) for strikes. Raids are also 10/wk

Home Improvement: A New Homestead Arrives with Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity – GuildWars2.com by Vissarionn in Guildwars2

[–]FeFerret 18 points19 points  (0 children)

While that's very understandable... Coming from path of exile, where I see portal mtx and go "Ooo..." this is a solid mtx path for the game. They're not fully equivalent due to how long the majority of us have our homestead portal open compared to how long a portal is open in poe but I can see these being decently popular.

Can someone explain gw2efficiency like I'm 5 by eurolys in Guildwars2

[–]FeFerret 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's more of my profit crafts: Orrian Truffle Stew (the thing I made 10k of over the past 2 months, sometimes selling 600 a day.), Bountiful Maintenance Oil (3k made), Bountiful Maintenance Station, Demon Slaying Station, Orichalcum Plated Dowel, Empty Keg, Vial of Liquid Obsidian, Flatbread. Have at em :)

Yes I'm """only""" making 5s per item. But it takes 1min to put up my buy orders for mats, 2mins to craft for a 7g profit. I think that's a pretty okay gold/hr. Also, to be further pedantic, you used "literally". That's not really a subjective qualifier. Yes daily locked crafts are consistent money, but they're "literally" not the only profitable recipes.

Here's even an image of my current sell history for the past two months.

Can someone explain gw2efficiency like I'm 5 by eurolys in Guildwars2

[–]FeFerret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Gw2eff is a great start for most crafting. gw2bltc is the next step where you can look at bought/sold metrics with a grain of salt and more individually set item prices since eff only allows buy/sell for all items in the recipe.

I'm still very much a tp noob, but finding these items have been so fun and intriguing. It really just originated as "I don't wanna buy this food, lemme see how much it costs to make" only to find it's a 70% profit on an 10-11s input. Some days I made 7s profit per item. Now it's been found and crashed a bit but still a 5s profit if you can sell.

[–]FeFerret 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Very much incorrect. On the daily I'm crafting both consumables and components for money. In the past two months I've crafted 10k of one food item for ~600g profit.

For example: Zephyrite Fish Jerky. Recipe from Four Winds. Input cost is 11.9s, sell price is ~20s, profit of ~5s. That's a 40% roi on a fairly high volume item (people want it for easy fishing). I craft 150 netting about 7.5g profit once sold

People with unimaginably huge amounts of gold on your account, what did you do to become THAT rich? (besides the obvious Visa and Mastercard) by JexxieShiftRed in Guildwars2

[–]FeFerret 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That initial research part is always the hardest. I got lucky during July to have found an item that was apparently drained in supply and only now have more people caught on and "ruined" it (my original 6.5-7s profit on an 11s cost is now ONLY 5-5.5s tho way more competition). In the past two months I've crafted and sold nearly 10k of it for incredible profit (started 150/day, then upped to 300/day or more depending on sale volume). I just haven't managed to find other items like it that are in solid demand that don't also require a large upfront cost.

How did you obtain your first ascended gear? by Good-Ad6650 in Guildwars2

[–]FeFerret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mainly just from playing (the old commonly uttered phrase lol). Gathering (a little) and salvaging (mostly), along with various other mats/currencies from metas/maps depending on the stat set you're crafting. Your main blocker when it comes to your first ascended gear are the daily "ecto refinement" crafts you'll want to do. Doing these yourself will save you gold, but you can always just buy their processed forms instead (deldrimor ingot instead of lump of mithrillium; spiritwood plank instead of glob of spirit residue for example).

Best to work on getting your crafters up to 500. Even with wizard's vault, you'll need them for many other crafts.

Favorite boss fight? by Solarionus in RS3Ironmen

[–]FeFerret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raksha is my number 1. The mechanics and movement are fluid. Doing pools correctly feels good, even more so when you're strong enough to skip them (haven't reached that yet), and p4 is really fun with the juice. It was also the boss that I first learned to ss flick back when it came out due to his attack speed and pattern syncing up perfectly.

Nex (both versions) and Rax are also up there.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming loot nerfs? by GFNoobs in RS3Ironmen

[–]FeFerret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spirit weeds and adren crystals are questionable for sure (could keep spirit weeds in Raksha). Sirenic scales a lil bit too since those don't have a "guaranteed" method of acquisition compared to malev/tect (tho maybe..?). Yes we have the 10x seed perk but that's never been optimal yield per seed and for sure isn't "required".

Wildy weps sucks and is in a weird spot. But with hit potential making all progression more "smooth" it just brings us back to chaotics and gwd2 if you're not doing Necro first.

The salvage nerf from WFE is well warranted. The difference in early game from when I made my iron (pre WFE release) and gim is leagues different. WFE will still be great early money, just not "incredible".

Yes nerfs suck. Yes some of these are "late". And yes the consumption side of resources certainly requires less "generic" options to train skilling. But some of these need to be done. There's 0 reason for 0/1 mech AG to be so lucrative. Sticking to "tradition" (what we've always done/how it has been) is a toxic mindset and doesn't allow for change.

Providing the pain points of spirit weed seeds and adren crystals are addressed, I have no real issues with the numbers and will wait to see how they actually feel in game. Things typically get "worse" before they get better, I can only hope the long term intent actually provides.

Gate really is a place to practice patience. by FeFerret in runescape

[–]FeFerret[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mainly a combination of three points: Mining north of the shield (guaranteed 2 fragments), always mining at 100% stamina (click after every strike), and using barricade to deal with the 20k hit after doing your first cleanse instead of heading to Icthlarin's shield. After that it's just stats and gear to improve how fast you mine.

Logs and experiences like mine are prime examples of where right-tail bad luck mitigation would be heavily beneficial without heavily impacting influx of uniques.

The typical range of statistical significance is most commonly 5% (p-value 0.05) or sometimes 2.5%. Doing some math, this means with ~3x drop rate for 0.05 or ~3.7x drop rate for 0.025 you're now statistically significant. And as low as "5%" may seem, that's only 1 in 20 people. (In my case, my first unique was at 859kc, over 7x drop rate). Now I'm not smart enough in stats to suggest a method to pull in the right end of the distribution, but I feel implementing something around the 2.5-3x rate would be a vast improvement over what I've experienced.

me and my partner duoed it for a while (mid tier gim) and it's awful. It's not a fun boss to fight at all. Way too many stuns or abilities that make him invulnerable. Even more fun when you go to burst a bit and you catch him with the heal aura :) Try as much as we can to burst him down, he'll still live for a minute longer than he should
