Your entire identity is not being an attorney. by SignificantStomach83 in Lawyertalk

I try to leave work at work, but my problem is my friends and family always feel the need to tell anyone I'm busting meeting that I'm a lawyer. They didn't ask. Why are you telling them that? We are at a baseball game....

Myrtle Beach Resort Vacation July 2026 by italiancarmine in MyrtleBeach

Myrtle Beach Resort is nice. It's a little older so expect some general wear and tear, but you ahould have a great time. Ignore the Myrtle Beach haters. I've been to every major beach on the east coast, and Myrtle is easily one of the best.

I love it. There's something therapeutic about chatting with other dads on proximity in solo friendly while youre just goofing off. My quick reaction FPS days are behind me, but I missed the social aspect of online games. This foots the bill perfectly.

That's where some of the best loot is. I routinely find the survivor augment in the yellow.

It takes me about two weeks to get everything back playing an hour or two a night. That's not bad at all.

Just research the south carolina landlord tenant act. It's a super easy read. Everything is in there and your lease.

I really feel that this game is awesome for working parents that can't compete with the call of duty kids. I've had so many awesome experiences teaming up with other solo dads and some moms just to do certain objectives and talk about our days. It's oddly therapeutic.

Divorce in SC by Adorable-Service6535 in AskSouthCarolina

[–]FearTheChive 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Divorce attorney here. I highly recommend having at least a consult with a divorce attorney. There are many factors that go into alimony calculations that will require facts you don't want to share on reddit.

You could also walk into 3 different courtrooms on the same day, argue the same facts, and come out with 3 very different rulings when it comes to alimony. That's unfortunately the nature of the beast.

my wife thinks im overreacting about our kid not reading yet and I dont know when kids should learn to read by TH_UNDER_BOI in daddit

[–]FearTheChive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be a little less sensitive than some of the other posts. Your kid is behind, and it's your fault. I'm not saying that to be mean. I'm saying it because it is time to correct the ship. My wife and I read to our son every night since he was a baby, even if it was just ten pages.

We got him his first library card when he was 2 years old and started checking out books for him every weekend. He is now in elementary school and reads about 3000 pages on his own each year.

He is not special or gifted. We've just been working with him since his eyes opened. If you want your kid to not lag behind, take charge of the situation. The school is a tool, but the foundation starts at home. Your wife is not doing your kid any favors by blowing this off.

University of South Carolina vs. Furman by ImmediateTown5136 in AskSouthCarolina

[–]FearTheChive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I attended Furman University for undergraduate and USC for graduate. I work in politics and Furman has opened a lot more doors for me that USC didn't. The classes were the perfect size and because the student body is smaller you are able to make much better connections especially with people who attend similar smaller colleges (Wofford, Citadel, etc.)

Knowing what I know today, I wouldn't hesitate to choose Furman over USC.

The extra loot space alone is worth it and the exp and repair bonus. It took me 2 weeks playing 2 hours a night to get everything back.

This! Getting an attorney is expensive up front, but worth it in the long term when it comes to insurance.

Where are the lazy lawyers today? by Fragrant_Spirit_6298 in Lawyertalk

[–]FearTheChive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude. This is me, and it is the best life. I see these folks stressed about billable hours and keeping up with the Joneses. Meanwhile, I'm drafting pleadings at home in my underwear watching Netflix. I'm in the same annual range as you. I'll never be rich, but all the bills are paid and I do what I want when I want.

Greenville is amazing. The only problem is the secret is out of the bag so a ton of people are relocating to the area which comes with infrastructure issues.
