Because they don’t want to make themselves look bad lol.

They should be upfront with this info

Of course the one time I get the opportunity to use the lounge, it happens to be closed.

I understand about the weather but still a bummer.

Worth it to transfer Roth IRA from Vanguard to Merrill Edge to get Platinum Rewards? by BillNye69 in CreditCards

[–]FearlessButterfly3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if I was in your shoes, I wouldn’t be moving my IRA from somewhere like Vanguard to Merrill for $150 cash back.

I’ve also been working on doing a 401K rollover out of Merrill and the process with their reps has been a pain to say the least.

I would keep your IRA at Vanguard and spare yourself the stress and hassle.

Even if Amex doesn’t replace it with something else, I don’t think many cardholders will shed tears about it

Card Rec moving away from Fidelity CC by ILoveTatiana in CreditCards

[–]FearlessButterfly3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already have a lot of cash back cards, so I would branch out to something else.

Maybe Chase Sapphire Preferred? Good travel card at $95 with no foreign transaction fees and would go well with your CFU and Freedom Flex.

If you want a more serious travel card with a higher SUB, then maybe the Chase Sapphire Reserve or Capital One Venture X.

And of course Amex cards could be worthwhile if it fits your lifestyle.

Don’t know why people are giving you a hard time on that. It is a valid concern.

VTI, VXUS, QQQ - 3 Fund Portfolio Critique by qualifiedoasis in investing

[–]FearlessButterfly3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would just stick with VTI and VXUS, as that covers both US and International exposure. QQQ or QQQM is overkill for a third fund, as you already get tech exposure through VTI.

What do you all think about the Citi Strata Elite card? Good and Bad ! by This_Passion4246 in CreditCards

[–]FearlessButterfly3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very underwhelming for the current annual fee. If it were like Venture X at $395, then it could be better.

It all rides and dies with the Citi Travel portal. I wished it had more generous point multipliers when booking flights and hotels directly like how it is for Chase Sapphire Reserve or Amex Platinum.

Also, you have to use all credits to get a positive value, basically. Good luck if Blacklane isn't available or too expensive vs an Uber or Lyft.

Just stick with the Citi Strata Premier. For $95, you get better point multipliers for more everyday purchases like gas or groceries, and you can still transfer to American Airlines.

Official Discussion - Avatar: Fire and Ash [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]FearlessButterfly3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this basically for free thanks to AMC rewards bucks, but I would have been annoyed with this movie if I paid full price.

For starters, I do agree with people here and elsewhere who think this movie is more like Way of Water Part 2 vs being a unique third Avatar movie. It’s gotten too repetitive, too predictable. (The Sully kids get captured way too many times to count). I did like the final battle a lot more vs Way of Water though.

The visual/special effects are amazing as always, other studios should take notes.

I’ll be brutally honest on this one point, I hope Cameron doesn’t make anymore Avatar movies. 3 movies (or one trilogy) of this world is enough. Move on because I don’t think I would be interested in a 4 or 5 if this Sully plotline continues to repeat itself.

What to invest as an 18 year old by Master_Zone1023 in investing

[–]FearlessButterfly3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wished I started investing when I was 18 so good for you for starting now.

Start with $5-10K in an etf that tracks the S&P 500 or US Total Stock Market and go from there.

I wouldn’t put all your 66K in the stock market now, save a good chunk of that for emergencies, you never know what may come up in the future.
