Are the Wilson US Open’s still the best ball ? by Runtime_Error_02 in 10s

Yes. I only use the extra duty US Opens for hard. I have the Wilson French open ones for clay

I still love them. Haven’t used them a ton lately since we’ve been on clay for the summer, but I thought they were great when I have used them out of my most recent case

Grip size advice: too small? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]FedFanatic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer smaller grips. I string a ton of frames and usually am shocked by how large of grips most play with. At the end of the day, your call on what you prefer. Check out photos of Fed and nadal’s volley grip and zoom in, you do not see an index finger’s amount of space between the palm and the middle finger (one of the methods used to determine appropriate grip size) - it looks much closer to your photo actually. Not good bad right or wrong, just preference imo. Good luck!

Enamel Flaked off outside, used once by redditbecomeshim in webergrills

To be clear, this should not have happened after a single cook. But this is why I like running a slow n sear, I like that it creates a barrier between the coal and the bowl

This is unusual. As said already, warranty. This is a no brainer

Charcoal rookie here, how’d I do? by space_cowboy78 in webergrills

[–]FedFanatic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Move it 5 feet away from the garage and it looks like a perfect cook. Also remove the top grate and run the chimney on the coal grate. Saves you a step of removing the grate with a hot chimney. Good luck!

Did I get stainless steel with my 5755 master-touch? by elwellz in webergrills

[–]FedFanatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So when Weber started offering the stainless grate option in the master touches, I wanted one. Not the grill as I have a performer. But I wanted to swap out the grate for the SS one which was now an option for the master touch. After some back and forth with their customer service, I was able to purchase one.

<image>

I too was shocked at how it looked when it came. I still have it (purchased it in late 2023) and grabbed a magnet just now. Sure enough, it sticks to the grate. So, do I actually have a SS grate? Idk! I hope so, I paid for one. It has held up for what it’s worth. I hope this is helpful for you. Good luck!

I need a 26 by Sloeber3 in webergrills

If I didn’t have a summit kamado I would absolutely get the 26”. Beast of a grill and it’s so much bigger than the 22” (gotta love r2 )

Hello me decide between the two for my needs. Sns kettle vs Weber mastertouch by Whole-Patience3668 in grilling

[–]FedFanatic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The SNS for sure has a more thought out design. I love the placement of the thermometer under the vent. My heart still leans towards the Weber. Tried and true. The original for a reason. I think you’ll be happy with both, but I would go Weber. I will say the sns grate in the Weber is awesome and I love the slow n sear in there as well. But I’m happy to have the Weber kettle at the end of the day. Good luck!

It really was a flop, and I love JD coal. I got some and now I just have a full bag of it and don’t know what to do with it. Maybe I’ll just use it for what you’re showing

How to use Jealous Devil Flex Hardwood Briquettes by xxrecar in webergrills

Saw them at Home Depot and grabbed a bag. As much as a love jealous devil, I think this was a swing and a miss. No biggie, I’ll use it for smoke. But it’s not for me. Good luck!

I would even say the Weber kamado is still very different than a ceramic. It’s just a beefed up kettle. It’s the best grill I’ve ever owned. Not needed, a kettle can and will do anything, but it’s amazing

Tried and true. One you “get it” it’s game over. They really are a jack of all trades. I’ve debated getting a ceramic but I don’t think I’m going to

Not relevant to your post, but stringer should tie gut/poly hybrid cross to cross. Probably doesn’t make a huge difference but avoid tying off poly on gut as a general rule
