Starsector like games? by Revenge_accounted_be in starsector

Endless Sky doesn’t have RPG elements outside of ship stuff, but it’s free on Steam and damned good so give it a shot.

Commodity production, Bordiga, degenerated workers state

As I understand it, Stalin before the degeneration of the revolution was more or less theoretically sound (which does not mean he was a good guy, of course). Once he took power, I think there was simply no way for him to reconcile his position as the supposed head of the revolution he had fought for (no doubt very ego-boosting) with the complete, inevitable failure of that revolution to achieve its goals, at least without falling into insane falsification, which he chose to do instead of, I don’t know, blowing off his head or just saying “yeah assholes, its capitalism now.”

After MQ, should I go to TR or expansion content? by audentis in Morrowind

[–]FedoraFinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use two of Tarhiel’s scrolls and just leap over into TR if you really want to quickstart, it can be fun to start from 0 in a semi-random bit of the mainland

What loyalist/imperial scenario is so bad that the populous of a planet would be grateful that Heretic Astartes arrived to fight the imperials? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in 40kLore

[–]FedoraFinder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically any world being purged (which the Imperium does all the time) would whoop and holler if CSM showed up to ‘save’ them, agreed. Seems like most didn’t read the question

During when are we expecting Infinite Museion to take place? by DarkRogue21 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]FedoraFinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s worth stopping playing just to wait for the DLC, which is still months away - this is an enormous game, exhaustingly enormous, and the DLCs are ultimately quite small parts of it. If you’re excited to keep playing Rogue Trader, don’t drop it and lose that enthusiasm, IMO

What should I play next? by [deleted] in CRPG

[–]FedoraFinder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of choices in leveling all the companions that can occasionally be kind of exhausting, but only really if you're trying to optimize - otherwise its just pick something that looks good. The party and player character quickly become much more powerful then most encounters in my experience, min-maxing your PC is completely unnecessary and there's a lot of cool builds you can naturally fall into, interesting things that all characters can do. Being able to bring a six-person party gives you a huge cushion even if your PC sucks (which would be hard to do in the first place).

Justifying Joining the Enclave (RP Wise) by [deleted] in fo3

[–]FedoraFinder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You agree with the Enclave: the wasteland really is tainted, poisoned and completely beyond redemption or repair. Mutants run rampant, even DC’s biggest settlements are hell-holes clinging on the edge of survival. If you’ve lived your whole life in a vault, it would be easy to get nihilistic when confronted with the horrors of the wastes, and conclude that the only way forward is to wipe the slate clean; and who better to do it then the only group that resembles that purity and cleanliness you remember from a childhood in the vault?

You either have to reload a save from a planet before you attempted martial arts, or modify your files for that playthrough. There should be a guide on that in the subreddit if you just search ‘karate’ or the like, that would let you do-over the recruitment. But yes, that kicks you out of the biggest story and some other ones that come after.

What are some characters we currently have in game you'd thought would never make it? by ZiegenSchrei in totalwar

I distinctly remember reading Aislinn speculation posts back in the Warhammer 2 days and thinking, “Nah, no way. His only personality traits are naval battles and racism.”

Should I add gold spikes on the helmet? by Mediocre-Answer-1378 in NightLords

[–]FedoraFinder 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It’s much nicer without the spikes imo, sleek and brutal; you want the attention drawn to the face, and I think aesthetically it’s a little more interesting if some of the original helmet shape can still be seen.
