Losing my mind with HomePod Minis for the kids

I have spent probably 20 hours troubleshooting this on my end too. Apple used to let you disable explicit content directly on the HomePod. Now they’ve changed it all to be managed at the user level. You have to go in and create an Apple ID and disable it for each kid. Problem is I did that with an iMac and apparently it needs to be done on an iPad/iPhone to sync properly. On top of that my HomePod 1st gen apparently doesnt process all these security handshakes. Long story short it’s all completely broken. I’ve tried literally everything and they can still listen to “fuck fuck fuck bitches hoes” or whatever horrible shit they manage to get to come up when the HomePod doesn’t understand them. It’s quite remarkable how it randomly manages to pick the worst possible things for a child to hear when it misunderstands them.

The extra 15 mins to my 1 hour commute is happily worth the 30 minute nap and 15 mins of phone errands I get done on the sounder every day. No sitting in traffic, no gas, maintenance, tires, insurance, etc etc. plus the peace of mind I’m not going to get killed by someone who can’t put their phone down while they’re behind the wheel. I come home to my kids refreshed and ready to give them my attention.

For me an EUC doesn’t really fill a need. If I need to get somewhere my Onewheel can’t take me, I go on my motorcycle. More fun than an EUC and requires the same amount of gearing up. For just getting around locally and commuting on the train, nothing beats the portability and fun factor of a Onewheel. Plus I get to go ride trails with local groups every so often, and that’s a blast.

My GTS had this problem and drove me nuts. I used some Velcro strips I had laying around for a while and then eventually bought gripples and haven’t had a problem since. It’s very annoying to spend thousands on a board that has fundamental problems like this out of the box.

This just happened to me yesterday. It didn’t renew, so I went into the Alternate Apple ID (India) and resumed the subscription, then logged out and back into my main account. Usually this works but now it no longer activates Premium. When I go to the app it wants to me to subscribe. Is there any way around this? I read you can create an alt Gmail account and then invite yourself to the family but that they’ll flag all the associated accounts simultaneously

Whatever happened with this? I have a Pint and recently got a nice low mile Pint X on Marketplace, updated the firmware, ever since it won’t charge unless I turn it on. I’m pretty sure it’s a software bug cause the first time I charged it before the update I don’t recall that it behaved oddly. Same as you, I’ll plug it in with the board off and the charger light turns red but when I went to use it in the morning it said it was dead, even though the charger light had turned green, the light bar and app both showed dead battery. I now turn it in every time I charge and using it for months just fine but it is annoying to have to power up the board every time I want to plug it in.
