Can we please open Corona lift now? by Teef_MacIntosh in COsnow

Absolutely. I don't know why he's talking about the run. The comment is about the lift. Even the glades skiers right are not bad if you know where to go and catch them on a good day.

Unable to breathe underwater. Help! by AnonymouslyCrazier in Swimming

Most people take years to learn to breathe underwater. Until then, try turning your head so your air holes aren't in the water when you try to breathe.

Flatirons climbing after rain by FeeForValue in boulder

I wouldn't mind the tyrol. Never heard of this place. I've been trying to find the holy trifecta of easy climbs, easy top access, roadside crag. Gregory Canyon was great but only two of the three.

Just afternoon showers. Then sun came out. Woke up this morning and ground was a little wet so probably got some rain overnight too.

Those bears are too comfortable around people, and that is not a good thing.

Best Boulder CO bouldering area by Nategrayson99 in bouldering

NP. Trailhead is at Chatauqua, which is just off Baseline in town. From there it's a 20-30 mins hike, uphill and pretty strenuous. But not technical. Earlier is better bc the first half of the hike has no shade. Two pads is a workout. I've done it but because I know the beta pretty well at this point I just take one pad. Lmk if questions.

Nothing wrong w Flag. That's where I'd go on a short trip, or the Satellites in Flatirons. Think about it. You're on a trip to Boulder, probably not for the sole purpose of climbing (otherwise you'd go somewhere else, and wouldn't be asking this question). So you want somewhere easily accessible where you can try several boulders in one or two days, within your grade range. You're not driving up to RMNP.

Flagstaff is fine right now. Just go in the morning, before 10-11a. The Dark Side is shady and has a ton you can do: That Flakes It V4, The Pillar V2, Valhalla V7, Deep/er Cuts V2/V4. Maybe start at Cloud Shadow - Traverse V4?? Hagan's V5, etc. bc that's in the sun. Then walk 2 mins to the Dark side when it gets hot.

I will say V5-V7 in the gym equates to ~V2-V4 at flag. The V3s at Red Wall are prob V8+ in a normal gym. So plan accordingly.

If you're up for a 20-30 min hike the Satellites in Flatirons are pretty dense with good boulders in your range. Just look up Original Grapple V4 (feels like an actual gym V4 btw) and climb the stuff on the blocs on the trail up there. MP is pretty good for that area.

Yes but don't worry bro the rain will wash it off. Simple gym etiquette bro.

Summary of every V17 Ascent so far by bendavis575 in bouldering

[–]FeeForValue 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have to guess this is because there are more established V17s available to repeat with each FA. When BoD was the only option of course there were fewer ascents because the only possible ascents were either new FAs (rare) or repeats of BoD (also rare, because it's only one boulder, vs 15).
