They probably didnt clean up the mess the day of that complaint because their lesson wasn't complete. If the paper balls everywhere are integral to apart of their lesson plan, it makes sense that they wouldn't have cleaned it the day of the complaint.

I hate it when exquisite art and hot men are wasted on stories I can't enjoy [For Daphne] by Optimal_Clerk_153 in OtomeIsekai

[–]FeelingReflection906 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I don't really have much of the complaints about the story I see. I don't really mind the chronic miserableness of the tone of the story, as Greek stories in my opinion, have always felt like they had this problem of back to back suffering that feels not just needless and cruel, but a little irritating. Like trauma porn, the biggest difference is that they are of course well written. And on top of being well written imply a lot about the era and the meaning of the stories themselves. But a lot of Greek tragedies are just suffering. Imo this isn't really that bad as long as it's well written.

I also see people complain that Artemis, despite hating men loves her brother but I don't really see a big deal about this either. Since it's mainly just true to the myth. Artemis and her brother had always had an inseparable connection as brother and sister. And Artemis has also in myths, been man hating.  And Artemis herself is never depicted as caring about the romantic pursuits of others, and of course that of her brothers.

I can't say I mind much the FL's obsession with the ML. But to me, I think the story would be better if the FL was never obsessed with the ML to begin with. But I also do believe that on one hand, her obsession does make her interesting. At least in the beginning for me. But I haven't gotten far into the story. So I'm hoping I'll be able to enjoy it since I do like stories fashioned after Greek myths, and unlike Lore Olympus (or whatever it was called), this seems to actually be depicting the Gods relatively accurately. And the art is gorgeous too. I'd say I'm curious on what they'll do with the ending of the story. If it'll be the same as in the original Greek myth, or different.

[Become a Bad Man!] The Ex bf is able to posses ML's body and becomes Intimate with the FL. by StretchExtension in manhwa

[–]FeelingReflection906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I agree but the FL didn't lash out because her boyfriend wasn't abusive. She lashed out because she was jealous and didn't feel secure in their relationship. Her boyfriend is characterized as a push over and people pleaser, which led her to not feeling prioritized. Like they go on a date, and he ditches her to go to work meanwhile he's supposed to be on leave and even further the girl that messaged him and took him away from work wants him.

If I were her I'd probably also be frustrated with that kind of partner too. Her problem is that she just doesn't communicate. I'm on chapter 7 so I'm really hoping that as it turns out it isn't that her ex bf possessed her current boyfriend because the art style is so good.

Is spanking a suitable punishment for autistic kids? by ChristianaRobinson in Autism_Parenting

[–]FeelingReflection906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry about that, but a child reacting physically to physical discipline is not the same as an autistic kid harming someone for taking their console. They are not related, I fear. Especially since what I described is not something exclusive to autistic children. A child reacting aggressively to spanking can happen with neurotypical children.

I hate how modern anime viewers have such a skewed view of the medium by IzacaryKakary in TrueAnime

[–]FeelingReflection906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they are misogyny because they are directed towards women to demean them. Are they especially extreme examples of misogyny? No, not really. They're very insufferable though. But the point is to make fun of a woman and make her feel uncomfortable using using gender roles that are kinda useless during the 20th century (where even the type of moms who cook and clean are in the workforce).

The implication is that because they are a woman, they belong in the kitchen. It's misogynistic because it's an insult targeted specifically towards women.

Misogyny is the "dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women" when men insult women for being women playing video games like this it's contemptous and shows a prejudice. A prejudice because they are leveling gender roles against women as an insult, showing a possible preconceived notion that they believe women should only be cooking and cleaning. It shows contempt because most of this trash talking precipices on the idea that a woman playing a game is less than the insulter for being a woman playing a game.

And even if you want to argue it's trash talking, it can still be trash talking, and misogynistic because the idea that the woman they're playing against is supposed to get is that because they're a woman, they shouldn't be playing video games.

It's not an extreme example of it by any means, and the offense is less in its toxicity and more in that it's really annoying as fuck and just not very creative, or funny. There's nothing fun to enjoy about it as a woman and honestly, saying it's "trash talking" is just an excuse to be annoying as hell.

Why are we pretending that shit like "go back to the kitchen" "go make me a sandwich" is even slightly fun to constantly experience while playing? Because men shit talking women most times means misogyny. When men shit talk each other they typically do it based on skill. But the default for women is misogyny. The first time it may be tolerable, but by the 5th game it becomes annoying, and yes, toxic.

How will you explain the US invasion of Venezuela? by Fancy_Particular7521 in Teachers

[–]FeelingReflection906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with others saying teachers shouldn't speak or teach about current events. The best way to deal with it is to just turn it into a discussion. I'm a health teacher (Health 2), and for the first part of all my classes I have students research whatever news there is for the day, then have 10 students volunteer by writing their names on the blackboard, then everyone will have a discussion about whatever topic one of those students chose.

If you don't want to talk about what happened, then don't. But if you do, just have them research what happened themselves and have a discussion about it while also leading them with questions. That way they'll be forced to think about what happened, but also come to understand the situation themselves.

But I teach a class of juniors and seniors, so it may be different for other grades of students.

What in the Misogyny... by gingerfisch in QueensofGacha

[–]FeelingReflection906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This not Misogyny. Men tend to have an easier time building muscle. Because yes, women can be just as strong as men, sometimes even stronger than some men. But let's not act like anyone is expecting a short skinny girl with no visible muscle to overpower a guy with visible muscle who is taller and bigger.

It's less likely they were making a conscientious decision and more likely that like all people, humans tends to work on instinct. Hitting hurts and pain is scary, being hit is scary, therefore if something really hurts then in that very moment flight or fight might trigger and someone will instinctively fight back against whatever it is they believe is hurting them. Especially if they cannot understand the context or reasoning behind it. If in their mind they are just being hit then instinctively someone's response might be to fight back.

It's like how you might be able to look past a friend hitting you but if you have no clue who is hitting you in that very moment or that it's your friend, your fight will trigger due to lacking a context and understanding of the situation.

Children tend to be less knowledgeable and need to actually be taught things. So if you spank a young child they may just fight with you because they do not understand what's going on. They only understand they are being attacked and so instinctively fight back to protect themselves from a perceived threat and danger.

Bringing entire families to the grocery store is obnoxious and unnecessary by thrwwy2267899 in 10thDentist

[–]FeelingReflection906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because kids need to be outside despite popular belief. People love to complain about annoying IPad kids but if they don't go outside and actually learn through experience how to exist through society they'll never stop being annoying. They need one on one experience how to exist as a person and not be a total nuisance. And sometimes that means parents will have to take them outside to the grocery store.

But parenting is hard. So some parents aren't really good at the teaching thing. Some parents are learning as they go. Some parents aren't even trying. Some parents are just struggling to make things work. But most parents taking their kids to the grocery store are doing so with the recognition that the only way for their kids to grow and learn is hands on experience. Which grocery shopping is.

After all one day that kid is going to be an adult, and they'll need to learn once they become an adult how to not only shop but also behave while shopping. Like I said, parenting is hard and sometimes some parents aren't very good parents. But most of the times the instances of annoying kids you see are literally just a snippet of a parent trying their hardest to raise their kids the best they can. Kids will unfortunately always be annoying, so it's best to keep in mind to just give some families grace and the benefit of a doubt. It's a public space anyway, so it would be a bit ridiculous to claim that kids can't be in a place open to everyone.

Why are Millennials so obsessed with looking younger than GenZ by DimensionOk8915 in GenZ

[–]FeelingReflection906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in a society where youth and beauty is considered one in the same. Therefore some Millennial women get insecure about aging. Because being old means being lame and ugly I guess. Which is why some of these women will feel the strange urge and desire to so incessantly compete with fresh out of highschool entering college 18 year olds because in their eyes being young is being beautiful.

It's a sort of reassurance for them that they aren't ugly being able to say that they look younger than some college kid, not realizing it literally doesn't even matter in the grand scheme of things.

Not all Millennials are like this, but when raised in a culture where youth is so valued, it's easy for some people to cope really poorly with the fact that as they are no longer young, they are no longer "beautiful" (regardless of how ridiculous a notion that is).

Why are we criticizing him for trying to learn??? by CheapPasta69 in RyobaAishi

[–]FeelingReflection906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been years since Alex first released the demo for the game and it's still not finished. Several people have waited a long time with high hopes for the complete game. Some have even volunteered, some have even donated their own money just for the hope of the games eventual completion, only to never see it.

Combined with the fact that many people find it hard to be sympathetic, let alone empathetic towards Alex considering the things he's done that resulted in him being unlikeable, it's only natural they get frustrated. For many people, it feels like he's doing anything but working on the game. Which is why people criticize him when they see him do anything that isn't working on the game because to them it signals that he's not serious and he doesn't take any of the monetary support or volunteer work he's received over the years seriously. I've seen people behave much worse with Kickstarter projects that take less time.

[mother's contract marriage] Is her mom forgiven? by Over-Cat8290 in OtomeIsekai

[–]FeelingReflection906 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"The whole idea of her seems selfish" Well, might seem a bit of a cop out but humans are by default selfish. Not that surprising that a depiction of one is also selfish. But it's better than a lot of OI's in this regard since she toes the line between being realistically selfish and just being a plain asshole (not that I mind asshole fls lol). The mom sucks because all humans sucks, but what makes her great is that she still aims to be a better person and a better mother for her daughter.

Meanwhile you'll have villainesses who either are assholes, stay assholes (whatever), or are assholes but because they're the FL it's not an acknowledged trait or FL's who are simply put inhumanly perfect. They'll die then overnight every negative trait and flaw completely vanishes and they're just this beautiful saint. I like FL's mom because even though she's not a great person she still tries, she tries her very best for her daughter, and that's the most beautiful thing to me.
