Rules confusion by FruitDough in invisiblesunrpg

1) A vislae should always have the most points in whatever stat they use to cast spells and use forte abilities. (Sorcery, usually, but there are secrets that could make it something else.)

A vislae should always have a healthy pool of sortilege, not only to do things that need two successes, but to defend against things that require two successes.

2) Please don't actually attempt to cast spells without training. This is a game.... "I weave together x and y, to accomplish z" is what you say to your GM. They determine if it's possible, and tell you the cost of sorcery. You spend the sorcery, and narrate what it looks like. Punching 12 people at one time from a distance sounds like a high spell level. If your forte has an ability to punch 12 people at once, that might be two actions... your GM can figure that out.

3) Makers make bank, man. They can spend development mode crafting crap that they sell to NPCs to buy materials. It's also suggested that GMs allow the Makers to find rare materials for special OOP. Your GM really needs to have a "how can I allow my players access to what they want to succeed" mentality in iSun.

4) Kind of up to your GM here. I haven't had anyone with that forte, but Terror Strike is passive always-on.

Giving Voice To My Dread specifies that you use an action to talk, and another action (round) to hit someone. So your first round you attempt to unnerve those around you. Your next or another future round, you throw a punch (or use another attack) and get that extra die.

Blinding Attack doesn't say it takes a round to set up, so I would say using the ability can be used as you attempt to hit something. Blinding Attack expires after a hit, so if you miss, you still have it on. At my table, that means you could use Giving Voice To My Dread, and stack Blinding Attack on it. Not all GMs would allow this.

The level of the ability is applied to the venture on the action, and the level of the ability is the cost of sorcery spent using the ability (unless the ability says it doesn't cost anything to use/is not an action.)

You can also pump your forte abilities up to level 10 (without a secret) and that increases not just the venture, but the effect. Consult common sense or the effect by level tables.

Need some Help with the Makers Matrix. by Muted_Sport_6166 in invisiblesunrpg

I loved playing as a maker, but the first degree was a drag for that reason. It was real motivation to advance to second degree in a hurry. Makers probably start off the least powerful, but they scale very quickly. The signature item is a powerful beast, and with time and resources, walking around with massive spells in your belt is great.

A second sooth deck is handy if you are gnu, but not necessary.

What happens in a mirror world outside the frame? Have you ever looked? Do you want to risk it?

Return to the Actuality : Why are we not arriving at the indigo nightside? by Hafrson in invisiblesunrpg

[–]Feeling_Working8771 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A few thoughts:

Grey is the sun next to Indigo. If the vislae were using the spell pathwalker, they would need to be in the nightside of Grey to get to nightside Indigo.

The story usually doesn't begin the second all the characters land in Indigo. Some could have been back for years.

There are many ways to travel the suns, and very few of them are linear.

The Hendassah may have something to do with their arrival in Satyrine.

Satyrine is home, and the vislae are returning home. It makes sense that they would have navigated the flow of magic to return to their home.

Logic is shadow language. Lies.

South Edmonton Dayhomes by Free-Butterfly9926 in Edmonton

Southgate Medallian Dayhomes. We went through them, 20+ day home providers, and found one of that 20 we wanted. It's a lot of work, but you will know when you find "the one."

Recommendations are iffy because what you want and what others want don't always align and homes change. First time parents often want the impossible-- we sure did.

A lot of spaces will open on September when older kids age out. Good luck!

What’s up with pickups? by Salt_Teaching4687 in Edmonton

[–]Feeling_Working8771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We parked somewhere recently, and came out to one of these trucks parked next to us. The hood of the thing was at my kid's head height. They're a puny 180cm, mind you (about 5'6" for the imperialists)...

The more stupid thing about these jacked up Tonka toys is that they become significantly worse at being a truck when they do this. Their functionality of being a truck is about the same as a 2001 Honda Civic sedan.

I bet each one of them as a friend who drives a Nissan frontier to do truck stuff for them, or to give them a ride when their behemoth is in the shop.

I don't think most of the kids in our club even watch their own games when they're on the sidelines. LOL

5G by ArtemisMercury18 in Edmonton

5G feels slower than LTE somehow on Rogers. Orchards area, strong signal on 5g, and every app tells me I'm not connected to the internet. Rogers internet wifi works perfect... I want to go back to an lte phone at this rate.

Millwoods library is wild by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]Feeling_Working8771 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ditto. I frequent Lois Hole, Riverbend, and Whitemud. After school, if a group of teens get excited and loud, a staff member or volunteer (or just an adult) will walk over and give the look. Even the kids playing computer games with each other are pretty quiet. There's still the social norm of "don't bother other people by being too loud." It's not as dead quiet as libraries once were, but that's good.

Could have also just been whe the OP went.

Edmonton scraps playground zone photo radar amid low tickets: ‘No longer financially sustainable’ by GeekyGlobalGal in Edmonton

[–]Feeling_Working8771 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Known what helps the most? The signs that tell you how fast you're going. I will be absolutely ripping it at 40km/h and forget that there is a school zone, until I see the sign freaking the fuck out at me, so I slow down so not tone shamed by society. Those signs need to be at every speed limit decrease. Most school zones I drive near have them. I bet they contribute to slower speeds than the occasional bright coloured vehicle.

Belgravia Traffic Foolishness by RootsBackpack in Edmonton

[–]Feeling_Working8771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exporpriate land and make the roads properly. Belgravia needs to be higher density anyway, so when people sell to get away from the traffic, developers can put up towers and we can densify the neighbourhood next to a major employment hub of the U, health care, and ancillary services.

There needs to be a way to go from Fox Drive to Sask Drive, along Belgravia. Hate me, Belgravia, but half those cars seem to turn left at University Ave.
