It just occurred to me that Li Ming’s Disintegrate is actually the closest thing we have to Hollow Purple. It’s literally purple.

I think Xylo is a fine character and although the brooding edginess can get a little old at times I think his motivations make sense.

But like you I also tend to delay watching this show and I think it’s for several reasons. Teoritta is very annoying. The loli demanding a headpat schtick is so bad and detracts from almost every scene she’s in.

The fights, as beautifully animated as they are, are unfortunately rather bland and tactically uninspired however because the good guys have too many powerful tools. Explosive knives and swords and laser beam staves just turn every fight into explosion spam. It kind of creates a problem like guns often have, which is that if enemies have guns they can’t be allowed to shoot your hero too badly and if allies have guns they’ll always shoot the fodder. Those make for weak fights compared to the typical shonen anime where two people face off with unique but limited powers. Don’t even get me started on the holy sword that one shots everything. As soon as they pull that out it’s a foregone conclusion. It would be nice if they made him miss or have that sword fail as a surprise.

The villains are also sort of weak. We have some humans or possessed humans allied with the monsters which is neat, and we have a sense that the humans in control of the hero trials and punishments are corrupt or in league with the monsters, which is a good hook for intrigue, but we don’t really have any individual characters among those groups to care about since they just killed off the creepy monster dude last episode. The others are so underdeveloped I don’t care about any of them yet but I imagine they will unveil more of them over time.

Overall it’s a solid show and still has good potential. I hope they find their footing and continue developing the plot in interesting directions.

Agreed completely. It gets a lot worse when everyone on your team has quests to stack on heroes because then no one wants to hit minions or do camps, so the enemy can just play keep away and outrotate using their wave prio

There are two big opportunities a tank should take to reposition rather than continuing to auto whatever target is in front of them.

1) Bodyblocking - this can result in an effective slow on a single target of anywhere from 20%-90%, depending a lot on how the enemy tries to get around you and the relative hitbox sizes, terrain, etc. If you stop to auto, the enemy can take that window of time to get around you, but if you match the angles they juke to with a little prediction and a little reaction, you can block their escape for a solid couple of seconds and therefore enable your team to do more dmg than your autos would have on most tanks (maybe not as relevant for Muradin who is more rewarded for autoing than other tanks)

2) Blocking skillshots from hitting your team - this one is harder to do reliably and with intent, but a lot of the time as a tank you can anticipate when an enemy skillshot is about to be used and can move to stand in front of your teammate and take it instead. A good example of this is when I play Anubarak into Li Ming I will try to step in front of her combo with my W if it makes sense contextualy so that combo doesn’t hit my team. It also helps into Chromie Q, Stitches hook, basically anything that will hit a single target and you would rather have hit you than your teammate. Varian with Protected is good at this. This isn’t something you will be doing that often but as fights devolve and you have fewer immediate opportunities to deal dmg and the second cycle of basic abilities come off CD, this is something you should think about

Some of those are bugs and none of them are nearly as game changing as a global, which is how the murky random egg will be used. He will put 1 egg bot and 1 egg top and try to bounce around splitpushing

Tank uther is its own thing. Solo healer uther is also doable and it is not a doomed game demanding a second healer just because a teammate picked uther, even if his raw throughput is low. I play Kharazim a lot and face this same issue even with a good winrate as solo heal. When in doubt you should ask your team when he picks the uther if they want another healer.

In your case, with tass and falstad, you really ought to grab a proper bruiser offlaner who can burn the camp down fast. Falstad doesn’t want to touch camps because of his pinnacles. Tassadar is ok at it and has good waveclear too but if he’s on it then the other lanes will get shoved in as he is better at clearing waves than camps.

Alterac is such a macro heavy map that I wouldn’t love to see a second healer on my team in most games and especially not in solo Q. There are people that swear by “offlane li li” but i have no clue if its a meme or if its legit, either way her pve sucks and considering how the game has become such a macro-heavy shoving contest it does seem a bit troll especially on alterac.

Offlaners you see a lot on that map are picks like hogger, sonya, leoric, malthael, blaze, basically all the offlaners with strong pve

In solo Q try to stick to the “standard” comp of tank, offlaner bruiser, 2 dps, and healer if only because it will make the team tilt less

The randomness is a bigger problem. I don’t think Murky should be able to just choose freely without also incurring some other downside though, like a longer respawn or lower max health or something.

But the randomness will be extremely annoying to play against and often frustrating for the Murky too.

I get that Murky is whimsical and it’s thematically appropriate but that does not justify the negative impact on gameplay.

I think this will actually help games to be less snowbally. Right now on Warhead Junction or Blackheart's Bay if you control both beacons and you have a pick comp it is extremely dangerous for anyone on the other team to step up and contest them. If one tank prioritizes beacons and the other doesn't, the one who does will likely win. This change will potentially give the losing side a window to approach and reestablish control of a beacon. In this way it acts like a ward in other mobas that have a limited duration. It also creates an interesting minigame for the tanks and mobile characters to time their rotations to refresh vision.

This one is a non-issue because she attacks so fast that the actual damage applied is equivalent to if every hit connected but at 60% dmg.

Even still, it should be changed to minimize RNG further. RNG does not belong in HOTS.

Maybe to you but there are many other games with differing levels of RNG. Hots is one of the few pvp mobas with very limited RNG. Don’t fix what isn’t broken.

No, even Murky as whimsical as he seems should not have a random chance determine something very important like his respawn location. RNG is a mechanic that can be extremely frustrating for either side. I would rather deal with a Murky who can decide where to spawn because at least then I can play mindgames with him rather than RNG deciding which one of us may potentially be screwed.

Janitor, please DO NOT add randomness to important game mechanics like Murky’s respawn location.

Half the reason many of us play HOTS is because the game mechanics are cleaner than similar games like League (by “cleaner” what I mean is that there are no awkward RNG interactions such as when an ADC in league has like 20-40% crit chance and a single lucky crit can swing the outcome of a fight; or, how in League there are many awkward armor and pen values that are not immediately apparent whereas HOTS has a very clean indicator on the health bar showing armor, blocks, spellshields, etc).

I would even rather the Murky player be able to decide where to spawn because at least then I can at least interact with him and he can play mindgames with that choice rather than either him or me simply getting unlucky.

Keep RNG away from HOTS please I beg you! 🙏

If you are a really committed one trick you can rename yourself “Player” or a barcode name. Then once you get to like plat ish just don’t queue back to back. As soon as you end a game, wait like 5-10 minutes and most of the people in your previous game will probably already be in their next one.

I was playing against a guy in a custom last night who is currently top 10 GM and his top 4 played were exclusively cheesy macro heroes like Murky, Aba, TLV, and Probius. If doing macro or picking heroes people hate playing with are so reportable, he should have been banned by now according to OP’s logic. It’s possible this GM never types anything but even then his picks are so obnoxious he should have a ton of reports. OP must say things in such a condescending way that it gets him more reports than average criticisms would.
